Wayfinder Power Search for iPhone Celebrates 100k Searches in 24 Hours

Officially launched on July 1st, Wayfinder Power Search for iPhone and iPod Touch provides more than 100 million points of interest available through a simple web interface. After 24 hours, the company recieved more than 100,000 search requests on their server through iPhone and iPod Touch.  Their search result include the display of pictures and in-depth descriptions of restaurants, hotels, bars, museums and other types of location information thanks to content partners such as Tele Atlas, Wcities and Yellow and White pages providers around the world.

“It is amazing what you can do when you combine the advanced Wayfinder Location Aware Servers with a simple web application,” said Magnus Nilsson, Wayfinder CEO. “With the new iPhone development tools from Apple, combined with the launch this week of iPhone 3G, which has built-in GPS, the opportunities for compelling location applications are tremendous. This is only the beginning of a suite of cool applications that we intend to bring to iPhone users.”
