Not activated by default, an interface with video recording option  has been found in the latest iPhone 3.0 beta firmware. The interface can be activated by modifying the configuration files, although it is not usable with the current iPhone or iPhone 3G.

The video recorder might not be supported by the current iPhone according to BoyGeniusReport. The final iPhone 3.0 firmware is said to be fully supported by a new iPhone that will be announced in June. Other possible capabilities found in the beta firmware include “video editing”, “video uploading”, “auto-focus camera”, “magnetometer” (digital compass) and “Voice Control”.
