Ulysse Nardin Chairman Features World’s Finest Docking Station
When it comes to expensive phones, the one thing we ask for is great — no, outsanding features, and it seems to us that the Chairman invokes all of those things that we crave so much. Sure, it’s changed a bit over the last year or so, but we can say that we love the changes that the company has made. After all, we can’t help but think Windows Mobile on the Chairman would be more of a pain than anything else.
This time around, with the phone able for pre-order right now, you’ll be getting a 3.2-inch capacitive touchscreen candybar phone, running some version of Google’s mobile Operating System (they’re not exactly clear on this). It’s also got a kinetic power system inside the device, which means the Chairman can be powered on for up to 30 days of stand-by time, and has up to 8 hours of talk time. It’s also rocking thumb print recognition, 3G capabilities, and 32GB of internal memory for good measure.
SCI Innovations (who is working with Ulysse Nardin) also created a docking station to go along with your new phone. We’re sure that it’s also costing customers a few pennies, too. Though, we’ve got to admit, it is pretty cool. It’s a lacquered wooden dock, and it charges the Chairman’s battery. But, it also backs up all your data to an external USB drive, as well as including two embedded speakers. As we said, it’s got the features. Now, for the price tag: $12,800 to $49,500, depending on what model you get, and the finish you choose. But, when you think about the anodized aerospace grade aluminum alloy, 22K gold, sapphire crystal, carbon fiber, and marine grade stainless steel that goes into these things, it starts making sense, right?
Heralded by luxury insiders as the most anticipated debut of 2010, the latest version of the Ulysse Nardin Chairman smart phone features top-of-the-line upgrades affirming the phone’s standing at the top of the market. As the world’s first luxury hybrid smart phone featuring a functioning mechanical watch rotor, the Chairman is unlike any phone ever created.
Envisioned by Ulysse Nardin and SCI Innovations, the Chairman embodies the famed watchmaker’s core values of expert craftsmanship, timeless style and exclusivity. A nod to the brand’s history and founding year, each version of the Chairman will be available to only 1846 clients. The three styles of the Chairman are Precious Metals (pictured above in gold), Steel, available with several color choices and Stealth, in all-black or with colors. The unique smart phone incorporate the ultimate in hand-finished anodized aerospace grade aluminum alloy, 22K gold, sapphire crystal, carbon fiber and marine grade stainless steel.
The Chairman development team has continued to advance the phone’s technology and design to ensure the Chairman’s discerning clientele is equipped with all the conveniences and luxuries a smart phone can allow:
– Google Android operating system
– 32 GB of memory
– Expanded 3.2” touch-screen
– Thumb print recognition
– 3G capabilities
– Proprietary rotor improvements for increased battery life
To complement the hand-held masterpiece, SCI Innovations created the world’s finest docking station. A work of art in its own right, and resembling the famed “Ulysse Nardin Ship Chronometers,” this lacquered wooden docking station is as multi-functional as it is stylish. The attractive docking station charges the battery, backs-up all data to an exterior USB and includes a pair of premium speakers which can be driven by most Bluetooth devices.
