The latest Touch HD and iPhone killer? Toshiba has announced their new TG01 smartphone, running Windows Mobile 6.1 and featuring a big 4.1-inch WVGA touchscreen (800 x 480 pixels), microSD card slot, HSPA, WiFi, GPS and customize Toshiba’s own user interface. The Toshiba TG01 is also one of the first smartphone to use the new Qualcomm’s 1GHz Snapdragon QSD2850 chipset. Acccording to SlashGear, the new user interface is finger friendly and designed for one-handed use. Shake control has been integrated by default to pick up incoming calls and other customization settings.
Unlike the Touch HD, Toshiba TG01 has two touch button, Home and Back, available below the touch screen. It also has an unique virtual trackpad to be used for page navigation. While it has a bigger 4.1-inch touchscreen compare to Touch HD’s 3.8-inch, Toshiba has magically managed to slim down the thickness further to just 9.9mm. Would this affect its battery life performance? There is no words on whether user can change the battery easily.
