LG QWERTY Slider Runs Windows Phone 7 Series

Appear at Engadget’s The Engadget Show, Microsoft’s Aaron Woodman is showing an unannounced LG prototype smartphone with the new Windows Phone 7 Series. The LG prototype has a 4-rows QWERTY hardware keyboard, 5 megapixel camera and is just slightly thicker than iPhone and Nexus One. There isn’t any details info on the Windows Phone 7 software walkthrough, but check out more photos at Engadget site.

Toshiba TG02 and K01 with Windows Mobile 6.5

Toshiba this week debuts two new mobile handsets at Mobile World Congress 2010. Expanding Toshiba’s mobile handset range, the TG02 and K01 offering capacitive touchscreens and fast internal processors like its TG01 Windows phone. The TG02 builds on the super-slim form of the Toshiba TG01 Windows phone, features a wide 4.1″ VGA capacitive touchscreen, 1GHz processor and 9.99mm thickness body.

Joining the TG02 at MWC is the new K01, it comes with a slide-out QWERTY keyboard that makes typing easy and comfortable, the K01 also offers Toshiba’s first-ever Organic Light Emitting Diode (OLED) capactive 4.1″ wide-screen. The K01 also features super-slim design, measuring 12.9mm front to back. The K01 also features a fast 1GHz2 processer and storage can be expanded up to 32GB using microSDHC cards, allowing users to store their favourite movies, music and games with plenty of room to spare.

Pharos Announces its first Windows Mobile 6.5 Smartphone with Pharos 565

Today Pharos Science and Applications announced that they have begun shipment of the world’s first ruggedized PDA based on Windows Mobile 6.5. The Pharos 565 offers built-in GPS navigation, 3.5” QVGA touchscreen display, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, IrDA and RAW IR/SIR in a ruggedized Windows Mobile 6.5 PDA with a full QWERTY keyboard. The device comes with a Marvell PXA310 624 MHz CPU, 512 MB Flash ROM, and 256 MB DDR SDRAM. The ruggedized Pharos 565 PDA is compliant with the International Protection Rating (IP54) standard and can resist a drop in a range of 4 ~ 5 feet. It includes the complete Office Mobile suite of applications.

AnyDATA to Present ASP-318 and the ASP-518 Windows Phone in Mobile World Congress

AnyDATA announces two Windows smartphones for carrier distribution, the ASP-318 and the ASP-518. The ASP-318 is a low cost and affordable Windows Mobile smartphone for cellular subscribers, such as students and enterprise workers who previously may have only considered a mid-tier feature phone. The AnyDATA smartphone utilizes the Mediatek MT6516 application processor that is designed for entry level smartphones.

The ASP-318 smartphone features Windows Mobile 6.5 Professional, a 3.2 inch color touch screen, GPS to support navigation and LBS applications, an accelerometer, dual SIM, EDGE/GPRS modem, a micro SD slot for memory expansion, and an FM radio. The ASP-318 also has a 3.2 megapixel camera with built-in flash, autofocus, and macro-mode to focus on close-up images. The ASP-318 operates globally on quad-band GSM 850/900/1800/1900 Mhz bands. It will be commercially available in 2nd quarter, 2010 and will be marketed as the iMedia smartphone.

The ASP-518 is a 3G dual mode smartphone currently marketed by China Telecom utilizing the Phillips brand. The phone features Windows Mobile 6.5 Professional, GPS navigation, a brilliant 3.2 inch WVGA screen, WiFi, 4 gigabytes of memory, as well as a micro SD memory slot. The smartphone also has dual cameras, namely a 5 megapixel auto-focus camera for taking high quality photos and a front facing camera to enable mobile video-conferencing. The ASP-518 features the MSM7627 3G processor from Qualcomm.

AnyDATA will be demonstrating these world class smartphones along with other products such as 3G USB modems, 3G modules, an Interactive Display Appliance (IDA), and a 3G connected camera security system in its booth at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

HTC HD2 Camera Fixes Available as Software Patch

Having color issues with your new HTC HD2? HTC is acting fast to fix the problem with a new software patch “Digital Picture Enhancement”. The software patch is released worldwide, and can be downloaded from the HTC support page. Other than the worldwide software patches, a new ROM 1.48 is also released to Europe’s HD2 user. There is no mention of the camera fixes in the new ROM. You will have to apply the patch if you have the same camera issue with the new 1.48 ROM

AT&T and LG Announce the LG eXpo GW620 with 1Ghz Processor

Featuring the first 1 GHz processor in the United States, AT&T and LG announced the LG eXpo will be available online beginning December 7. The LG eXpo is the first device in North America to support an optional integrated pico projector. The LG Mobile Projector snaps onto the back of the device and allows users to share presentations, slideshows and even online videos straight from their mobile phone.

The LG eXpo is loaded with Windows Mobile 6.5 Professional, it also eliminates the need for pin codes and passwords with the “Smart Sensor” fingerprint recognition from AuthenTec. Boasting a 3.2-inch external touchscreen with 16M color, LG eXpo features a sophisticated slider design with a full size QWERTY keypad. In addition to a 5.0 megapixel camera with built-in auto flash, LG eXpo can support up to a 16GB removable microSD memory card for premium music and photo storage.

AT&T and HP Introduce HP iPAQ Glisten

AT&T and HP announced the upcoming availability of the new HP iPAQ Glisten. It is AT&T’s first smartphone with an AMOLED (active-matrix organic light-emitting diode) touch screen, featuring the Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.5 and QWERTY hardware keyboard

Users can easily move between work and leisure with advanced mobile e-mail capabilities, built-in Wi-Fi and GPS functionality as well as rich multimedia features and applications. AT&T supports Windows Marketplace for Mobile for access to a variety of applications.

In addition, users can take advantage of the built-in speakerphone and enjoy the freedom of hands-free control with Voice Commander, voice recognition software which reads text messages, emails and appointment details and lets users begin messages and dial contacts using simple voice prompts.

Verizon Wireless Announces The Availability Of The Samsung Omnia II

Available from December 2nd next month, the Samsung Omnia II in CDMA version will be offered by Verizon Wireless with a price of $199.99 after a $100 mail-in rebate and two-year service agreement. The CDMA version does not have much differences except some button design change. It also comes with a 3.7-inch WVGA touch screen, WiFi, Bluetooth and TouchWiz UI.

O2 UK Start Offering HD2 Today

O2 has announced the HTC HD2, which will land in UK today and available for free on certain O2 Pay Monthly plan. The HD2 packs in a massive 4.3-inch touch screen, fast processor and camera with LED flash into a package just 11mm thick and weighing in at 157 grams.

The HTC HD2 is powered by a 1Ghz processor and has built in Wi-Fi, GPS, and FM radio. It has YouTube, Facebook and Twitter integration and a MicroSD card slot for expandable memory, as well as a standard 3.5mm audio jack, Bluetooth and microUSB charging port.
