Konami is bringing six new mobile phone games for Windows Mobile OS, including the DanceDanceRevolution S, Japanese baseball game, Mobile Pawafuru Proyakyu, and the shooter classic Gradius II. The release of the apps is scheduled to coincide with the launch of the Japanese version of Windows Marketplace for Mobile in December.

Bsquare today announced that it has signed an agreement with Microsoft Corp. under which Bsquare will be the first company to distribute Windows Mobile software and mobility applications internationally. Bsquare will begin supporting approximately 30 select Windows Mobile partners with licensing, technical support and go-to-market activities as their current direct agreements with Microsoft end.

Samsung today announced the launch of a Global Developer Contest to generate new applications for Samsung’s Omnia II smartphone. The contest, which opens October 23rdand runs through December 10th, will offer up a total of US$330,000 in prize money for developers creating new applications for Samsung mobiles. MetroPCS and Samsung today launched the Samsung Code (SCH-i220), powered by the older Windows Mobile 6.1 instead of an updated Windows Mobile 6.5. This is still the company's first Windows Mobile 6.1 though. The Samsung Code supports 3G data connection, comes with build in bluetooth, 2 megapixel camera, microSD card slot and a hardware QWERTY keyboard.

To coincide with the release of Windows Mobile 6.5, Toshiba UK announces the retail availability of the TG01 Windows phone, a variant of its innovative TG01 featuring the new Windows Mobile 6.5 operating system.
