First Full Touch Walkman Phone from Sony Ericsson Unveiled

Sharing a similar body design as X10 Mini / X8 but running a different soul inside, the new Sony Ericsson Yendo is the first full touch screen on the walkman phone series. The Yendo inherits the “four corner UI”, able to deliver good music as well as social networking integration with its 2.6-inch TFT touch screen.

The Sony Ericsson Yendo does not support 3G nd will work in GSM GPRS/EDGE Rx 850/1900 and GSM GPRS/EDGE Rx 900/1800 network. It will be released in selected markets from Q3 with many color options.

Sony Ericsson Zylo and Spiro Walkman Phones Announced

Sony Ericsson today announces two Walkman phones slider, the Sony Ericsson Zylo and Sony Ericsson Spiro. Other than its focusing on music features, the walkman phones are also following the trend with integration of social networking capability to follow your friends or update your status.

Compare to Spiro, the Sony Ericsson Zylo has a higher specifications with 2.6-inch display, UTMS/HSPA, Gesture Control, 3.2 megapixel camera, Track ID, microSD card slot and FM Radio Receiver. It supports FLAC (Free Lossless Audio Codec) audio codec for high quality music listening on top of MP3/AAC/AAC+/eAAc+/WMA format. The Zylo also has an interesting feature, letting you play an background sound while you are chatting with your friends. It is preloaded with sounds so that you can pretend to be at work, walking on street or in a restaurant. Sadly, 3.5mm headphone jack is not available on this model. You will have to rely on Sony Ericsson’s own connector to use other headphones. The Spiro will be available in Q3 with Jazz Black, Chacha Silver and Swing Pink.

While the Spiro Walkman phone does not support the FLAC format, it comes with a 3.5mm headphone jack, FM Radio receiver, 2 megapixel camera, microUSB port, TrackID and microSD card slot. It can only supports GPRS/EDGE connectivity though and will be available in Q3 with Contrast Black, Sunset Pink, Spring Green and Stealth Black colors.

ATT and Sony Ericsson Finally Bringing C905a Cyber-Shot and W518a Walkman to US

AT&T and Sony Ericsson announced the Sony Ericsson C905a Cyber-shot and the W518a Walkman, both will be available in AT&T stores from July 19. The Sony Ericsson C905a will be available for $179.99 and the W518a for $49.99, both after mail-in rebate with a two-year service agreement. (For the C905a, pay $ 229.99 and after mail-in rebate receive $50 AT&T Promotion Card. For the W518a, pay $99.99 and after mail-in rebate receive $50 AT&T Promotion Card.)

Boasting an impressive 8.1 megapixel camera and advanced features such as face detection, autofocus, xenon flash and GPS tagging, the C905a Cyber- shot camera phone has a Memory Stick Micro (M2) storage for your photos storage. The USB connection also enables easy printing from the C905a directly to PictBridge compatible printers. BestPic technology captures seven successive photos with one click, allowing the shooter to choose only the best photos to keep. The Smart Contrast feature compensates for areas that are too bright or dark.

The C905a is also loaded with an array of multimedia offerings, including AT&T Video Share, video recording, AT&T Music, FM radio, Mobile Email, AT&T Navigator and instant messaging. With AT&T Video Share, consumers can share their summer experiences in real-time streaming video.

New Sony Ericsson Twiggy that you might never see it

Remember the classic Sony Ericsson W350 announced in 2008? A leaked clamshell phone called Twiggy is said to be its successor, but will never appear in the market because the company has cancelled the project according to the source at esato forum. Comes with a 3.2 megapixel camera, the Twiggy is branded with walkman phone and a music player control buttons on the clamshell cover. The Twiggy was first heard in October 2008, and it has even appeared officially in one of the Sony Ericsson press photo in March this year. More pictures after the cut.

Available in Taiwan now, Sony Ericsson W350 clamshell phone is added with a soft pink color. At just 10 mm thin, the W350 was announced and on sale in 2008. With Walkman on Top, key MP3 functions including Play, Pause and Scroll are outside the phone’s flip cover so you can use it just like you would a standalone MP3 player. The W350i is an EDGE 900/1800/1900 phone.

Rumor: Sony Ericsson Twiggy Spotted in Official Press Photos

With the announcement of the new Sony Ericsson MS500 bluetooth speaker today, an unannounced Sony Ericsson walkman phone has been spotted in the company’s official press photo. According to semcblog, the walkman phone is the successor of W350, which is an unique clamshell phone announced early last year.

According to a device profile xml file on Sony Ericsson website, the company is planning to add a built in aGPS chipset for the W508 clamshell phone. The upgraded model will be called W518a with a similar design as W508. The W508 has already equipped with a 3.2 megapixel camera, HSDPA and memory card slot.

First leaked by semcblog last week, Sony Ericsson today has revealed its new W995 walkman phone with an optimised video playback style. The slider phone comes with a 8.1 megapixel camera, built in Wi-Fi, 2.6-inch display screen and support YouTube. The W995 walkman phone is also the first Sony Ericsson phone that featuring a new software called Media Go, providing an easy and convenient way of transfering any audio, photos and videos between your phone and computer. Media Go can be used to rip your Music CD and convert video format to fit your mobile phone video format.

“With Media Go there’s no need to worry about format, resolution and ‘frame per second’ anymore.” said Alexandre Cardon, Global Marketing Business Manager at Sony Ericsson. “No longer will the video you transferred from your PC to your phone play in low resolution or bad quality. With Media Go and the W995 the experience is as good on your phone as it was on your PC.”

Set the phone on its built-in stand and watch videos with your friends while you pump up the volume on the powerful built-in stereo speakers. Depends on your regional market, the W995 will be sold together with the HPM-77 headphone or HPM-88 noise cancelling headset. A 8GB memory card will be included together with the retail package.

The W995 Walkman supports GSM/GPRS/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900 and UTMS/HSPA 900/2100. W995 will be available in selected markets from Q2 in the colours Progressive Black, Cosmic Silver and Energetic Red.
