This exclusive service brings extensive knowledge of the most relevant online lifestyle information directly to the palm of the Vertu client’s hand. The new clamshell is available from €4,900 to €6,500 now.

Vertu has unveiled its new Carbon Fibre Ascent Ti luxury phone this week, which said to have Carbon Fibre components produced with new sophisticated design methods. Handcrafted in England, the Ascent Ti Carbon Fibre has been repeatedly tested to ensure the optimum amount of fibres and resin and processed together to achieve a flawless uniform look on both the flat and curved parts. The Ascent Ti Carbon Fibre will be available from August next month.

The diagonal rib appearance of each phone is achieved using a twill carbon fibre weave process resulting in a robust and contemporary handset whilst the actual carbon fibre used has been tailor-made in the smallest 1k weave width to create a pattern profile with a perfect dimensional look. The collection will include the Ascent Ti Carbon Fibre Limited Edition, Carbon Fibre Grip, Carbon Fibre & Aluminium Grip and Carbon Fibre & Copper Grip.

Vertu has announced an unique homage to the renowned Parisan Jewellery house Boucheron in celebration of its 150th Anniversary. Every one of the gold components on this exceptional mobile phone has been painstakingly crafted from individual solid gold ingots taking over 1000 man hours to cut to shape, with over 700 man hours of hand polishing to follow and a further 500 hours to hand build.

The design intricacy of the sapphire crystal keypad with its concave design and 400 points on its surface provided the toughest of challenges for the most skilled of craftsmen as it strays from the typical flat surface used with such a precious material.

In keeping with Vertu’s unequalled level of quality, the Vertu Boucheron 150 is housed in a bespoke hand made wooden case made from Noce Pedullo, a special part of the walnut tree, and produced by Reuge, the market leading Swiss makers of artisan music boxes. Inside the box sits an exquisite custom-built brass music drum which plays the signature Vertu sandpiper ringtone upon its opening.

Frank Nuovo, Vertu Principal Designersays; “The essence of the single edition Vertu Boucheron 150 was to create something unique with signals of both brands. Using the Vertu Signature platform, but taking it away from the core design and creating a visibly stunning statement that breaks all expectations of mobile phone design, resulting in a true piece of sculpture. The constantly changing angled surfaces allow a cut stone appearance, inspired by the clearly faceted stones which are a significant part of Boucheron’s core craft. The recognisable Vertu V shape has seemingly morphed into random proportioned patterns and directions of the three sided surfaces creating a perfect blend of Vertu and Boucheron elements. The challenge was to gain visual sparkle not from precious stones but instead through pure form and line achieved with precious faceted metal”

The one-off Vertu Boucheron 150 will be on display for prospective buyers at the recently launched Vertu store at 38 Old Bond Street in London from November 19th and for a limited period of time only, before a showcase tour at Vertu stores in Paris, Milan and Tokyo.

Vertu announces the release of three new editions to the Vertu stable of handcrafted, Ferrari branded, mobile phones. The Vertu Ascent Ti Ferrari Nero will comprise of 2009 limited edition handsets in sleek black leather. While the Vertu Ascent Ti Ferrari Rosso and Giallo will be produced in vibrant red and yellow respectively. Each edition will be available worldwide from 1 November 2008.

Frank Nuovo, chief of design for Vertu says: “The original design for the Ascent Ti was heavily influenced by the dynamic power of luxury sports cars and working closely with Ferrari has enabled us to progress this vision. The new Vertu Ascent Ti Ferrari editions are the definitive automotive-inspired handsets – bold, balanced and with the unmistakable character of the Prancing Horse.”

The Vertu ‘V’ logo is complemented by the famous Ferrari Cavallino, that appears on the front and back of the phone.
