With the upgrade to HSPA 7.2 technology, AT&T continues investments to deliver the nation’s fastest 3G network. AT&T plans for initial deployment of HSPA 7.2 in Charlotte, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles and Miami by the end of the year. The company plans to deploy HSPA 7.2 in 25 of the nation’s 30 largest markets by the end of the second quarter of 2010, and to reach about 90 percent of its existing 3G network footprint with HSPA 7.2 by the end of 2011.

The Lightning will be available at no cost after a $100 mail-in rebate with a DataConnect Plan of at least $35 a month. Pay $99.99 after two year agreement and receive a $100 AT&T Promotion Card.

The AirCard 503 data card, AirCard USB 308, and AirCard USB 309 modems form the second generation of products for HSPA+ networks, following the successful launch of the USB 306 earlier this year. The AirCard USB 308 and USB 309 modems sport a new industrial design and performance improvements, including faster installation and setup of Sierra Wireless Watcher™ connection manager and a faster browsing experience. The difference between the two models lies in the HSPA+ frequency bands supported – the AirCard USB 308 supports the 850, 1900, and 2100 MHz HSPA+ frequency bands, while the AirCard USB 309 supports the 900 and 2100 MHz frequency bands.

The AirCard USB 301 and USB 302 modems combine a sharp new design with a streamlined feature set for the value-driven consumer market. The AirCard 402 includes high-performance GPS capabilities for a quick and accurate fix on your location. With the latest version of Sprint SmartView software, the AirCard 402 provides access to desktop GPS applications and/or location-based services to “locate and search” the nearest bank, restaurant or gas station. The $99.99 pricing required a 2-years service agreement contract.

The iCON 225 includes the internet connect wizard launch2net for Mac OS X. This software offers a one-click connection to the Internet without the need to enter cryptic configuration details. launch2net already includes connection settings for most mobile network providers worldwide and offers a comprehensive connection statistic.

The iCON 225 is available today from nova media for Euro 117 (plus sales tax if applicable) and requires Mac OS X 10.4.11, 10.5.2 or higher. A lanyard and an USB extension cord comes with the modem.
