Featuring a full touchscreen interface, 3G capabilities and video calling, the LG GD910 will be available later this year and offered by Orange. The Watch Phone has a curved tempered glass face, high quality metal casing and is a mere 13.9mm thick. It is the first touch watch phone in the world to feature 7.2 Mbps 3G HSDPA compatibility, enabling high-speed data transmission and video phone calls using the built-in camera.

LG did not sacrifice functionality in favor of size and the Watch Phone is fully capable of sending text messages, making phone calls, and, of course, keeping accurate time. This is all achieved using the phone’s touchscreen interface on its 3.63cm (1.43-inch) screen and LG’s intuitive Flash Interface.

Voice recognition features, which can be used with or without a Bluetooth headset, make it easier to place calls and look up contacts. Text to Speech (TTS) reads text messages and other information out loud for even greater convenience. The phone also includes stereo Bluetooth and a built-in speaker for playing back music files. A large phonebook and scheduler help with organization.

Toshiba has announced their new TG01 smartphone, running Windows Mobile 6.1 and featuring a big 4.1-inch WVGA touchscreen (800 x 480 pixels), microSD card slot, HSPA, WiFi, GPS and customize Toshiba’s own user interface. The Toshiba TG01 is also one of the first smartphone to use the new Qualcomm’s 1GHz Snapdragon QSD2850 chipset. Acccording to SlashGear, the new user interface is finger friendly and designed for one-handed use. Shake control has been integrated by default to pick up incoming calls and other customization settings.

Unlike the Touch HD, Toshiba TG01 has two touch button, Home and Back, available below the touch screen. It also has an unique virtual trackpad to be used for page navigation. While it has a bigger 4.1-inch touchscreen compare to Touch HD’s 3.8-inch, Toshiba has magically managed to slim down the thickness further to just 9.9mm. Would this affect its battery life performance? There is no words on whether user can change the battery easily. Detail specifications are not available at the moment, check out more Toshiba TG01 official photos at next page.

LG has officially unveiled its new Touch Watch Phone (LG-GD910) with 3G video calls supported and GSM Quadband network capabilities. AT just 13.9 mm thickness, this wearable phone is a follow-up to the prototype that LG introduced at Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2008 and includes a number of upgrades, including a full touchscreen interface, 3G capabilities and video calling. The GD910 will be first launched in Europe this year.

LG did not sacrifice functionality in favor of size and the Watch Phone is fully capable of sending text messages, making phone calls, and, of course, keeping accurate time. This is all achieved using the phone’s touchscreen interface on its 3.63cm (1.43-inch) screen and a flash user interface. The phone body is also water resistant, giving you worry free wearing it under the rain.

Voice recognition features, which can be used with or without a Bluetooth headset, make it easier to place calls and look up contacts. The phone also includes stereo Bluetooth and a built-in speaker for playing back music files. A large phonebook and scheduler help with organization.

Check out a live demonstration video below

Apparently RIM is going full speed with touch screen phones. BGR has posted about the new BlackBerry that is reported to make an appearance at WES 2009 (Wireless Enterprise Symposium, May 2009): a US bound HSDPA Storm and a touchscreen BlackBerry with a full QWERTY keyboard!

The first, yeah, might be least surprising, would be a new US-spec HSDPA Storm.

The second one, it’s a mix between the Bold/Storm/with a Javelin form factor — but definitely touch (see the mega-blurry photo). Watch out Palm, a new horror is coming soon. “This could be a really hot device as many current BlackBerry owners love the physical keyboard,” as i4u wrote. Information Week added, being able to use the excellent Bold keyboard for messages while still having a touch-screen for quick-launching apps would be a dream.

The handset, according to BlackBerryNews, is in the alpha stages right now. Its internal name is “Magnum.” Obviously, no pricing is available at this time.

I certainly am excited about this, but when it comes to the launch dates, I became more sceptic due to RIM’s track records. “RIM takes something like forever to release anything these days, so we probably won’t see any of this till 2034,” as CrunchGear wrote. He eh.
