Following up on the earlier press announcement, detail specifications and more press photos of the new HTC Touch2 are now available on HTC website. Comes with a 2.8-inch full touch screen with QVGA resolution, the Touch2 was previously leaked as HTC Mega, targetting at entry level users with a cheaper price range. It is also confirmed that the TouchFLO 3D is an updated version for QVGA device, which was also leaked in July as a custom ROM. Check out the full specifications here.
HTC is set to released a new version of its TouchFLO 3D, which has been demoed on the video below. The Home tab has got 3 program shortcuts added, and more shortcuts can be accessed by pressing the more arrow. HTC has also built in more features to the Settings so that you can handle more tasks with its interface alone! The ROM has not been leaked to the public yet, it is currently able to use on WVGA devices only according to the source.
Available worldwide as HTC Diamond2 and Touch Pro2, AT&T in US is launching it with a code called HTC Warhawk (Touch Diamond2) and HTC Fortress (Touch Pro2). The leaked info has planned the HTC Fortress to be released on May 25th, it looks like it has been postponed to a later date as we have yet to see an official announcement. The HTC Warhawk, in the other hand, is planned with an August launch date after the Fortress.
If you have bought a HTC Touch Diamond2 in Asia, a new ROM upgrade is now available from HTC support site. The new ROM updates has an upgraded Radio, with a new radio version 184.108.40.206. The new ROM version is 1.40.707.1. While it is not sure if the new Radio will improve the reception or the battery life, please note that each ROM upgrade will required a data backup and restore. If you like to keep the fingerprint off from your HTC Touch Diamond2, there is actually a alternate battery back cover available from HTC. While you can’t really choose this for the standard Touch Diamond2 retail package, it is available as an additional accessory for around 35 USD, reported on a Taiwanese forum mobile01.
Available now in some countries, the new HTC Touch Diamond2 is running the company improved TouchFLO 3D and WVGA display resolution compare to its first Touch Diamond. The Touch Diamond2 incorporates a larger 3.2-inch and a 5 megapixel camera, microSD card slot, light sensor and a new touch sensitive zoom bar for faster zooming of Web pages, emails, text messages, photos or documents. With the first release date leaked by Expansys UK early last month, we knew that the Touch Diamond2 availability date will be around April 17th and will be priced at 488 USD before tax or 561 USD after tax. HTC has confirmed that it will start selling the windows phone next week from April 22nd in Taiwan and to be priced at around 650 USD. Its pricing would be different depends on your region, and the Touch Diamond2 should be available in many countries by end of this month.
Featuring a sliding QWERTY keyboard, the new HTC Touch Pro2 is also pre-installed with the improved TouchFLO 3D, a high-resolution 3.6-inch widescreen VGA display, QWERTY keyboard sliding keyboard and the new HTC Push Internet technology. Users can transition seamlessly from email to single or multi-party conference calls and turn any location into a conference room. When the Touch Pro2 is flipped over it automatically turns into a conference room speakerphone system. The Touch Pro2 will be available across major global markets beginning in early summer.
