Finally, the successor of T-Mobile G1 has comes to the public with fulfillment of expectations. There will be no hard breaking and disappointment for this bad boy. The device features a 3.7-inch display, Android 2.2, 4GB of internal memory, an 800MHz Snapdragon processor and a 5 megapixel cam with a flash.

Trimble Outdoors Launches GPS Navigation Tool on the T-Mobile G1

Trimble has released its Trimble Outdoors application for T-Mobile G1 Android smartphone, featuring outdoor trip planning, navigation and geotagging solution. The software allows you to plan your trips online, transfer the trip plan to your T-Mobile G1 and use the phone as GPS navigator. For the first 30 days, the application is available at an introductory cost of $19.99.

“We developed Trimble Outdoors for the G1 to give Android enthusiasts an easy, convenient and affordable solution for outdoor navigation,” said Rich Rudow, managing director, Trimble Outdoors. “With Trimble Outdoors, G1 users can harness the power of GPS right from their phone to make the most of their trip. And there’s less to pack because no other equipment is needed. Just grab your phone, head to the trail or waterway, and go.”

Trimble Outdoors allows users to get maps of their locations, track routes with a GPS breadcrumb trail, and mark and edit waypoints along the way. The application also features a digital compass displaying the user’s coordinates, speed and heading.

T-Mobile Rolls Out Android 1.5 Cupcake

Finally, T-Mobile G1 users in US are now start getting Android 1.5 Cupcake over the air updates. The new Android 1.5 is bringing few improvements and adding a soft QWERTY keyboard to allow text input via the touch screen. It will also add the ability to upload photo / video directly to Picasa and YouTube from the G1.

Android 1.5 for T-Mobile G1 Postponed to Early June

Posted on its support forum, T-Mobile has told its T-Mobile G1 users that it will only roll out the Android 1.5 updates in early June. The message seems to be deleted from its forum, so it is still not confirmed if the released has been postponed to the next two weeks.

We are working diligently to get Android 1.5 out as soon as possible, while aiming to ensure a consistent, positive experience for our customers. We’re finalizing the build this week to ensure optimal functionality and smooth delivery. T-Mobile G1 Users in UK Getting Android 1.5 Updates?

A few T-Mobile G1 users from Android Community forum has reported to have received the latest cupcake updates from T-Mobile UK. The over-the-air updates is about 44MB in filesize and will updates the Android to version 1.5. There are also many others in UK did not receive the updates notifications yet but should be getting it by end May.

The new Android 1.5 is adding a soft QWERTY keyboard to allow text input via the touch screen. It will also add the ability to upload photo / video directly to Picasa and YouTube from the G1.

BSQUARE to Port Adobe Flash for Google Android Mobile Device

BSQUARE today announced it will port Adobe’s Flash technology onto Google’s Android platform. It is unclear that which company has engaged BSQUARE for the work. The time frame for the roll out is not announced too. In the last 12 months since its acquisition of NEC America’s Adobe Flash Technology Consulting and Distribution business, BSQUARE has worked on over 40 different customer devices including handsets, set top boxes, digital signage, consumer devices and netbooks.

“Integrating Adobe Flash technology with the functionality of Google’s Android platform will afford consumers the rich content and unprecedented applications they demand and is key to achieving success for our OEM and ODM customers,” said BSQUARE’s CEO Brian Crowley. “We believe that our value-added products and services can improve the Android experience for users and help our customers get their devices to market faster.”

Palringo launches its IM Software for Android Phones

As one of the best mobile IM software on iPhone, Symbian and Windows Mobile, the Palringo software is now available on Android Market for Android phones. The free application now supports Google Talk, MSN, Facebook, Yahoo! Messenger, AIM, iChat and QQ. Within your friends who are using Palringo, you can also share you location and view your friend location on the map.

Palringo for Android can also run in the background on the phone and notifies the owner when they receive new messages from their buddies. Check out the introduction video below.

Android Market Paid Applications Available Next Week

Google has started to accept paid Android applications submission from developers last week, promised to make the paid applications available next week. When available, the paid applications will be available to US users and followed by additional countries in the coming months. More roll out plan will be announced by the end of this quarter.

According to google, Google Checkout will be used as the online payment solution for Android Market. Other than the paid applications announcement, Android Market will start to be available to Singapore users in few weeks time and Australia next week.

Android Community Review TeleNav GPS for T-Mobile G1 Android phone

Announced today, T-Mobile G1 customers will have access to full-color, 3D, turn-by-turn GPS navigation from TeleNav from February 24. The service includes speech recognition, traffic alerts with one-click rerouting, more than 10 million business listings, gas prices, weather updates and restaurant reviews. TeleNav GPS Navigator will be available for a free 30-day trial on TeleNav’s Web site. After the free period, customers can continue the service for $9.99 per month for unlimited use. TeleNav GPS Navigator is also expected to be available in the Android Market later this year.

TeleNav GPS Navigator includes full-color 3D moving maps along with voice and on-screen turn-by-turn driving directions. Navigation is available in both landscape and portrait mode. If drivers miss a turn, they will automatically be rerouted. TeleNav GPS Navigator also includes speech recognition for both address entry and business search. On the T-Mobile G1, customers simply press one button and say the name of a business or the address and TeleNav GPS Navigator will provide directions. TeleNav GPS Navigator includes listings of more than 10 million businesses and services, including restaurants, hotels, shopping malls and banks – providing users access to restaurant ratings and reviews as well as phone numbers for business listings.

The service also includes frequently updated gas price listings so drivers can look for the cheapest gas in their area or along their route. Additionally, TeleNav GPS Navigator includes location-based weather information. Customers can see current weather conditions as well as a five-day forecast for their present location or for a destination of their choice in the U.S.

Subscribers can preplan trips online by accessing their account through My TeleNav at www.telenav.com. Additionally, the My TeleNav Internet browser plug-in for Internet Explorer, Firefox or Google toolbars provides subscribers an easy way to send addresses to their phone from any Web page. Users can simply highlight an address and click the TeleNav button on their toolbar. The address will be automatically added to My TeleNav for later use. All TeleNav users can download the free plug-in at http://www.telenav.com/support/plugins/.

Android Firmware RC33 Changelog Details Available

A check on the T-Mobile forum again today, Will (forum administrator) has managed to post the change log from the upcoming Android Firmware RC33 updates. The updates will add the ability of checking new software updates, save mms picture, google voice search and report comments in Android Market as spam. The Android Market will also display a “Updates Available” messaging when your installed application is updated. Some users have also reported to have received the updates over the air.

Fixes:

Comcast fails to download more than 1 email
- Symptom(s): No error message but it stays on “Load More Messages” without ever pulling another email.
“Messages” Stability Issue
- Symptom(s): When trying to send a message or exit the “Messaging” application you receive a pop up message that reads “Sorry! Activity Messaging (in application Messaging) is not responding. Force Close Wait”
WiFi forcing a logout of IM
- Symptom(s): While using the IM clients on the G1 if you turn on or off WiFi the sessions are terminated and you will need to sign back in.
No reminders for calendar items.
- Symptom(s): Missing appointments due to the lack of a reminder.
G1 hanging at the G1 Screen
- Symptom(s): A small number of G1 devices hanging at the G1 screen during the initial power up.
