Sybase today announced a new version of iAnywhere Mobile Office with expanded iPhone support and availability on the iPhone App Store. The latest version is intended to strengthen iPhone adoption within enterprises by providing Lotus Domino and Microsoft Exchange email and PIM data to iPhone users.

With this release, iAnywhere Mobile Office provides iPhone users with an enterprise solution supporting email, calendar, tasks and contacts with corporate directory lookup. In addition, it provides several key security features for IT to administer and manage iPhones within the enterprise including:

Application password protection

On-device encryption for all enterprise data contained within the iAnywhere Mobile Office application on an iPhone, leaving user’s personal data and applications untouched

On-demand remote data wipe to remove all enterprise data within the application in the case of a device being lost or stolen

“Today’s wireless consumers have grown accustomed to feature-rich functionality and extensive access to personal data, which is carrying over to the enterprise. The recent iPhone OS 3.0 release supports this transformation,” said Dr. Raj Nathan, Chief Marketing Officer, Sybase. “As the demand for wireless device usage and access to corporate data in the enterprise continues to grow, only solution providers with extensive mobility expertise and a single, comprehensive mobile platform such as Sybase will be in a position to fulfill requirements of the next generation workforce.”

The new version of iAnywhere Mobile Office, which supports both IBM Lotus Domino and Microsoft Exchange, is now available. A free 30-day trial version is available at: www.sybase.com/iphone. The iPhone client is also available on the App Store as a free download. The client requires use of iAnywhere Mobile Office server and a client access license to connect with email systems.
