Sonim Technologies Launches The XP1300 Core Rugged Phone

Famous for its XP series rugged phone, Sonim Technologies will ship its new XP1300 Core rugged device in November. The new Sonim XP1300 Core is IP-68 rated certified, comes with 2-inch display, noise-cancelling microphone and able to deliver up to 18 hours of Talk Time / 800 hours of Standby.

Available worldwide at the beginning of November, the XP1300 CORE is scratch and water resistant as well as dust proof, keeping workers connected no matter what their surroundings are. Other key features include noise cancellation, waterproof connectors and an improved display protected by Gorilla Glass.

Sonim XP3 Sentinel Rugged Phone Built for Worker Safety

Sonim today announces its upcoming Sonim XP3 Sentinel, a rugged phone that can be dropped from 2 metres onto concrete, submerged in one metre of water for up to 30 minutes and operate in temperatures from -20 to +55 Celsius. The XP3 is designed specially for worker safety, has a Gorilla glass screen and meets the military-level MIL-810F certification for resistance to humidity, salt, shock and heat.

Other than its heavy rugged protection, the XP3 Sentinel has 3 risk management buttons in red, amber and green color. The green button can be used to indicate the start time or end time of your work shift. The amber key is used to request enhanced monitoring and tracking if you are going into a risky situation. The monitoring service may track you on a map and you will have to acknowledge your safety every ten minutes until the amber alert is deactivated. The dedicated red button gives you direct contact to monitoring centre, which will also include your GPS location to locate you. Your GPS location will be sent to the monitoring centre every 3 minutes until the phone battery is drained. On a full charge, the phone battery can send the GPS signal for at least 24 hours.

Sonim Technologies and Land Rover Unveil Exclusive Rugged Mobile Phones Partnership

Sonim Technologies announced that it will embark on a partnership with Land Rover, which includes the launch of co-branded mobile phone products as well as an eco-friendly packaging. Two co-branded phones will enter the market by mid-2009 – the Land Rover S1 by Sonim and Land Rover S2 G4 by Sonim. This will be followed later in the year by the launch of a third Land Rover phone. Sonim and Land Rover will co-market the phones to top operators, mobile retailers and consumers in a staggering 40 countries.

“In less than two years, Sonim has set the bar for engineering best-in-class rugged mobile phones for people who work and play in extreme environments,” said Bob Plaschke, Sonim’s Chief Executive Officer. “We are delighted to be partnering with Land Rover on this range of rugged mobile phones.”

The Land Rover phones will be submersible, Bluetooth-compliant and certified to withstand salt, fog, humidity, transport and thermal shock and a 1.6-metre drop to concrete from any angle. To deliver further against Sonim and Land Rover’s distinctive marketplace proposition, the partners engaged iconic designer Scott Wilson, to develop the product lines.

Sonim XP3 Available by Christmas This Year

Sonim Technologies has announced the latest addition to their Xtreme Performance Series, the Xtreme Performance 3. Sonim XP3 has a more rugged specification than the XP1 and can withstand more shocks and drops than its predecessor. Most importantly, the phone can be fully submersed for 30 minutes within one meter of water. In addition, the XP3 boasts an IP-57 rating and is designated with a Mil-Spec rating of 810F against salt, fog humidity, transport and thermal shock.

The XP3 is also equipped with a powerful 1180 mAh battery that delivers 5.5 hours of talk and over 9 days of standby time. As continued proof of Sonim’s confidence in its products, the XP3 comes with an unconditional, three-year warranty. The Sonim XP3 is available either SIM-unlocked for £245 inc VAT or free on contract with Vodafone. The Sonim XP3 will be available in high street retailers in time for Christmas.
