SideKick Contact Restoration Available by Manual Import

Although the steps are not as simple as over-the-air push, Microsoft and T-Mobile has posted a detail instructions to download your SideKick’s contact as a CSV file from T-Mobile website. The CSV file will then need to be uploaded / import to your SideKick from the Sidekick Desktop Interface.

The Danger / Microsoft team continues to work around the clock and has completed its latest round of rigorous tests. We are now ready to make the first phase of the content restoration process available to you, starting with personal contacts.

This data restoration effort is only necessary for the minority of customers who lost data from their Sidekick devices.

Beginning today, log into the My T-Mobile website, where there will be a recovery tool to restore contacts you may have lost during the recent service outage. This tool will enable you to view the contacts you had on your device as of October 1. With a few clicks and a confirmation, you will be able to restore these contacts to your Sidekick. If you have recreated some of the same contacts on your Sidekick since October 1, you can choose to keep both sets of contacts, merge them, or just keep the set of contacts now on your device. You may also edit any partial or complete duplicates on your Sidekick after restoration.

We continue to work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to restore your data. We’re making solid progress on the next phase in this restoration process, including your photographs, notes, to-do lists, marketplace data and high scores.

Microsoft to Work on Sidekick Data Restoration This Week

For those SideKick users who have a data loss since last week, Microsoft has released an updated statement on the recovery progress. The company is finally working on restoring personal contacts this week, follow by a restoration for the rest of the content (photos, notes… etc) if everything goes well. The Danger / Microsoft team is continuing to work around the clock on the data restoration process. We apologize that this is taking so long, but we want to make sure we are doing everything possible to maintain the integrity of your data.

We continue to make steady progress, and we hope to be able to begin restoring personal contacts for affected users this week, with the remainder of the content (photographs, notes, to-do-lists, marketplace data, and high scores) shortly thereafter.

T-Mobile Start Selling SideKick LX 2009

Inline with its schedule, the Sidekick LX is now available for $249.99 with 2-years service contract and mail-in-rebate. The retail package will include a 1GB microSD card and available in dark gray or maroon color. Just like all the Sidekick series, the new Sidekick LX has the swivel screen and full QWERTY keyboard, it also comes with a 3.2 megapixel camera, LED flash, bluetooth, Youtube viewer, video uploader and a 3.2-inch display screen in 854×480 resolution.

T-Mobile Announces Sidekick LX 2009, Available May 13th

After much rumors on the new Sidekick LX, the 3G-enabled T-Mobile Sidekick LX is now officially announced with built-in support for the top social networking applications including Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, as well as GPS-enabled Live Search.
Just like all the Sidekick series, the new Sidekick LX has the swivel screen and full QWERTY keyboard, it also comes with a 3.2 megapixel camera, LED flash, bluetooth, Youtube viewer, video uploader and a 3.2-inch display screen in 854×480 resolution.

T-Mobile has started the pre-order now. The Sidekick LX is expected to be available by May 13th for a price tag of $199.99 with 2-years service contract and mail-in-rebate. The retail package will include a 1GB microSD card and available in dark gray or maroon color.

SideKick Blade Got FCC Approval

The SideKick 2009 (SideKick Blade), rumored to be available from May 13th, has just got FCC approval now. The Sharp PV300 is the internal model number from Sharp. It has also approved with T-Mobile 3G wireless band. The first leaked live photos of the new SideKick was available in Feb this year, it will come with a 3.2 megapixel camera, 3.2-inch WVGA screen and microSD card slot.

In addition to the FCC approval, a leaked screenshot of T-Mobile internal inventory system has also got the new SideKick listed. It is said that the new SideKick will be available in Carbon and Orchid colors.

Rumor: T-Mobile New Devices Roadmap for Q2-Q3 this year

A roadmap of new T-Mobile USA mobile devices for Q2 and Q3 this year has been leaked this week with the SideKick 2009 and HTC smartphones on the list. The SideKick 2009, also known as SideKick Blade, has a 3.2 megapixel camera, pre-installed social networking softwares, 3.2-inch WVGA screen and microSD card slot. It will be released on May 13th according to the leaked roadmap.

The Sony Ericsson CS8 might not be a 8 megapixel cybershot phone with Android OS though. The CS8 is most likely comes with a QVGA (240 x 320) display screen only according to a device profile xml found on Sony Ericsson site recently.

With the recent leaked of the new SideKick 2009 (SideKick Blade), hiptop3 has been sent a first spyshot of the new SideKick 2009 messaging phone. According to the recent rumor, the new SideKick has a codename called SideKick Blade and will be available as SideKick 2009, running new Danger 5.0 OS. It will also have a 3.2 megapixel camera, pre-installed social networking softwares, 3.2-inch WVGA screen and microSD card slot.

The Sidekick LX messaging phone is said to have 3G/GPS equipped for its new 2009 version. According to the info found in a survey, the new Sidekick LX 2009 will also have a 3.2 megapixel camera, pre-installed social networking softwares, 3.2-inch WVGA screen and microSD card slot.

The social networking softwares will allow direct access to sites like Facebook, Twitter, MySpace and YouTube. It will also have blog publishing client and photobucket management. Other than the major enhancements and upgrades, Danger is developing the new Sidekick LX 2009 to use the NetBSD, an open source OS.

New T-Mobile SideKick Officially Announced

Available today from T-Mobile USA, the new T-Mobile Sidekick powered by Danger allows consumers to upload personal photos from their Facebook page, or other similar sites, and use graphic designs to create their own shells. The T-Mobile Sidekick is also known as Gekko which you have been reading about it in various rumors and leaks.

The new Sidekick features key software improvements including support for video capture, playback and sharing; wireless stereo music and media sharing via Bluetooth; quick friend search and optimized group chats in instant messaging (IM); customizable Web browsing; and universal search across all phone applications and data. In addition, the phone’s shell is customizable, creating a unique look for every device. Users can also visit the Download Catalog to preview and select from hundreds of games, applications, themes and other content and receive purchases instantly.

The new Sidekick is built with removable shells, and at http://www.sidekickshells.com/, users can create their own unique designs — that will be printed directly on the shell and shipped to the customer — to personalize their handset and show off their style.

Now users can see IM status on e-mail messages and in the address book, so they always know when friends are available to chat. IM also becomes easier to use with a “search for friends” feature and the ability to initiate group chats with a simple keystroke.
