The camera module for mobile phone is getting better treatment. The latest Sharp SH-01A clamshell phone is approved by FCC. It comes with a 8 megapixel CCD camera module, auto focusing support and 18mm wide angle lens. Though, the SH-01A will only be officially released on NTT DoCoMo network in Japan with global roaming support.

Nissan Motor, NTT DOCOMO and Sharp announced today that they have jointly developed a mobile phone capable of functioning as an intelligent key for automobiles. Synaptics announced today that its ClearPad solution is driving the interactive touchscreen in NTT DOCOMO's new SH906i clamshell handset. Sharp SH906i is the first ClearPad-enabled touchscreen mobile phone in Japan's mobile handset market.

Sharp has just announced their new 5 megapixel CMOS camera module RJ63SC100 is the world smallest. The camera module has a size of only 9.5 x 9.5 x 6.6mm and support auto focus for better image quality.
