Nuance Mobile VSuite 3 and XT9 Available on Samsung Memoir

Nuance Communications today announced that Nuance’s VSuite 3 and XT9 Smart Input products are both embedded on the commercially available Samsung Memoir (SGH-t929). VSuite enables Memoir users to leverage their own voice as a complementary interface for accessing and enjoying many device features, while XT9 offers predictive text support for a variety of applications, making it faster and easier to send text messages and emails, as well as quickly type URLs via the full touch virtual QWERTY keypad.

In addition to its advanced imaging capabilities, the Memoir features Samsung’s unique TouchWiz user interface, a web browser, a music player, and assisted GPS navigation. The Samsung Memoir and the Samsung Behold, also exclusively available from T-Mobile USA, both offer voice command and control capabilities accompanied by the audio-visual feedback that is made possible with VSuite.

VSuite on the Memoir provides many application shortcuts via its “Go To” commands, including:

“Go to Web” to open the mobile Web browser;
“Go to Calendar” to input and reference appointments;
“Go to Ringtones” to find and reset ringtones;
“Go to Voicemail” to dial voicemail;
“Go to Games” to discover the games folder;

The Samsung Memoir also features Nuance’s XT9 predictive text input software, which is optimized for mobile devices with advanced input methods such as touchscreens and QWERTY keypads. XT9 allows users to easily switch between input modes, which is particularly valuable for devices like the Memoir. Alternating between numbers, letters, symbols and languages is simple with XT9. XT9 also corrects common misspellings while typing, making it faster and easier to write text messages and emails as well as enter search queries in the Memoir’s full HTML web browser

Samsung and T-Mobile USA has officially released more info for the new Samsung Memoir (SGH-T929), a touch-screen phone with a 8-megapixel camera. The built-in 8-megapixel camera with Xenon flash, 16x digital zoom and five shooting modes empower customers to capture photos and videos from their phone. Samsung’s new photo widget allows customers to post images taken with the Memoir directly to their favorite online photo sharing source, such as flickr, Kodak Gallery, Photobucket and Snapfish. It will be available exclusively through T-Mobile USA beginning February 25, 2009.

The Memoir features Samsung’s TouchWiz user interface, including two new widgets that give one-touch access to information and entertainment. The online weather widget connects to The Weather Channel automatically for updated weather information and forecasts in the user’s city. The camera widget provides instant access to the user’s pictures and camera functionality such as slideshow, as well as their favorite online photo sharing resource, including flickr, Kodak Gallery®, Photobucket and Snapfish.

Samsung and T-Mobile USA today announced the upcoming availability of the Samsung Memoir, a full touch-screen mobile phone equipped with an 8-megapixel camera and premium multimedia features. The built-in 8-megapixel camera with Xenon flash, 16x digital zoom and five shooting modes empower customers to capture photos and videos from their phone. Samsung’s new photo widget allows customers to post images taken with the Memoir directly to their favorite online photo sharing source, such as flickr, Kodak Gallery, Photobucket and Snapfish.

The Memoir’s full-touch virtual QWERTY keypad and multiple messaging capabilities, including text, multimedia messaging, instant messaging and e-mail. The Memoir is complete with a music and video player and built-in Assisted GPS navigation, which allows customers to utilize location-based services including turn-by-turn directions. For hands-free use, the Memoir features stereo Bluetooth technology, speakerphone and voice-activated dialing.

Rumor: T-Mobile T929 Memoir On Track for February Release

If the screenshot of the T-Mobile Scoop February 2009 edition is real, the 8 megapixel camera phone, Samsung Memoir will be announced and released for T-Mobile customers by end of February this month. According to the source, T-Mobile is now planning to launch the phone on 25th Feb. The Samsung Memoir is a full touch screen phone and comes with built in bluetooth, GPs, web browser and support 3G UTMS / HSDPA data connection.
