Samsung has release a Windows Mobile 6.5 software update for its Samsung Jack, a QWERTY smartphone released in May by AT&T US. The software update not only includes the OS version upgrade to Windows Mobile 6.5 Standard, it also brings several enhancements and features. Click here for more info.

Tele Atlas and Samsung have announced an agreement under which Samsung will use Tele Atlas maps for its GPS-enabled devices. Samsung will be able to bundle Tele Atlas’ product with its smartphone with more than 24 million points of interest (POIs), Voice Maps, and visual enhancements such as 3D Landmarks, 2D City Maps and Digital Elevation Models.

Samsung has announced its new Android smartphone i5700 Galaxy Spica in Russia, which previously first known as Galaxy Lite. The i5700 Galaxy Spica is not exactly "lite" compare to the i7500 Galaxy. Samsung today announced a contract with TeliaSonera to provide Long Term Evolution (LTE) usb devices for its new mobile broadband service in Sweden and Norway next year. MetroPCS and Samsung today launched the Samsung Code (SCH-i220), powered by the older Windows Mobile 6.1 instead of an updated Windows Mobile 6.5. This is still the company's first Windows Mobile 6.1 though. The Samsung Code supports 3G data connection, comes with build in bluetooth, 2 megapixel camera, microSD card slot and a hardware QWERTY keyboard.
