Verizon Wireless and CASIO today introduced the new Casio G’zOne (pronounced Jeez_wun) Rock, comes with 2 megapixel camera, LED light, bluetooth, microSD card slot and Triple Sensor technology for Earth Compass, Walking Counter, Thermometer, Astro Calendar, Sunrise Sunset and Tides software. The CASIO G’zOne Rock is available now for $149.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate with a new two-year customer agreement.

New Motorola Barrage Rugged Phone for Verizon Wireless

Verizon Wireless and Motorola has announced the Motorola Barrage last week. The rugged device sports a tough-as-nails exterior. Designed to be submersible for up to 30 minutes in one meter of water, it is constructed from chrome, glass, mesh and rubber – protecting it against blowing rain, humidity, solar radiation, high and low temperatures, blowing dust, salt fog, altitude, shock, vibration and transit drop.

Other than its rugged protection feature, the Motorola Barrage comes with a 2 megapixel camera, dual speaker and supports Verizon Wireless’ Push to Talk service that leverages the company’s Evolution-Data Optimized (EV-DO) Revision A (Rev. A) network.

The Motorola Barrage is available online now for $129.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate with a new two-year customer agreement. It will reach Verizon Wireless Communications Stores beginning Nov. 16. A non-camera version of the phone will be available on Oct. 21.

Nokia introduces the Nokia 3720 classic rugged phone

Nokia today introduced the new Nokia 3720 classic, an IP-54 certified mobile phone designed to resist water, dust and shock. The Nokia 3720 classic is encased in durable materials and is entirely sealed to protect the inner electronics. The whole body has a size of 115 mm x 47 mm x 15.3 mm and 94 grams. It is expected to retail for approximately EUR 125 before subsidies or taxes and is expected to begin shipping this summer in grey or yellow color.

The Nokia 3720 classic features a sealed, leak-proof design and durable materials in a range of colours. The battery cover, which protects both the battery and the internal circuitry of the device, is locked with a screw, making for worry-free usage in wet, dusty or muddy environments.

Other than the rugged design, it also comes with LED flashlight, 2.2″ QVGA display, 2 megapixel camera, 20MB internal memory, microSD card slot and 2.5mm headphone jack.

Nokia to Announce New Rugged Phone Soon

For those who need a rugged phone, Nokia is announcing a new model soon according to Nokia Conversations site. The site is previewing the rugged phone with a series of test videos: What we’ve come up with are a series of videos showing off our experiments, and the results. The first two are live today and we’ll be revealing more over the coming days. We kicked things off (quite literally) with what we thought would be a gentle test, the traditional rugby kick. We didn’t quite figure on Mike’s lofty left foot though. Watch the video below to see what happens.

Motorola announced two new enterprise-grade iDEN handsets – the r765 and the r765IS (intrinsically safe). Motorola’s r765 and r765IS solutions can help businesses speed up group communications and increase productivity with rich iDEN services including talk group and private calls, interconnect, messaging and data. Users also get isolated site operation, emergency talk group calls, status messaging and talk group scan. Moreover, organizations can continue to rely on MOTOtalk to enhance device capabilities with downloadable Java applications and provide workers with hands-free capabilities with Bluetooth wireless technology.

The r765 offers an impressive 1.0 watt iDEN output power for greater range while the FM/IS-certified r765IS delivers 0.6 watt iDEN output power. Dual SIM cards allow for two unique accounts on one handset, enabling administrators to quickly customize handset operation for different users through a simple menu selection and operate the radios on either 800MHz or 900MHz networks. The r765 will be available for purchase in the second quarter of 2009, while the r765IS will be available in the third quarter of 2009.

Handheld Europe Announced the New NAUTIZ X5 Rugged PDA Phone

This week at CeBit, Handheld Europe has launched its new Nautiz X5 rugged PDA, comes with
a 806 Mhz processor, 3 mega pixel camera with autofocus capabilities, integrated barcode scanner, WLAN, Bluetooth, 3G cellular capabilities, and GPS with InstantFix II. The Nautiz X5 weighs only 410 grams, is IP65 rated and can also handle extreme temperatures and multiple drops from 1.8 m.

The Nautiz X5 comes standard with 256 MB RAM and 512 MB built-in Flash storage. The long-life 4400 MAh Li-ion battery provides more than all day performance, is rechargeable and hot-swappable. The GETAC PS535F handheld is the company’s next generation, fully rugged GPS-enabled PDA featuring a built-in 3 megapixel auto-focus camera, altimeter and E-compass. Sprint has introduced an upgrade of Motorola i365 with rugged protection. The new Motorola i365IS is intrinsically safe, suitable to be used in hazardous areas that may contain flammable gasses, vapors or dust. It is also certified for military specification requirements including humidity, blowing rain, dust, shock and vibration.
