The HTC HD7 will be heading to T-Mobile and received a code name “Schubert”. The device is going to launch globally. Recently, O2 Germany and Vodafone announced the device arrival to their sides. According to the European leaks, the HTC HD7 will be launch on October along the side of WP7. Meanwhile, there are no words on launching date for US. But, we’re expecting its arrival very soon.

Looks like the little phone that could is heading overseas, folks. More importantly, it seems that O2 Germany has landed the deal, and will be offering the device some time in the near future. At least, we hope it’s the near future, considering it’s appearing on some pretty bold O2 marketing. And, while it’s only a sign in a window, we’ve got to say: it’s way better than the advertising for the devices we saw here in the States. That means that the phone might actually sell overseas, and that’s definitely a good thing for Palm.

The advertisement doesn’t go far into the details, like telling when a launch date could be expected, but we figure it’s just a good way for the wireless carrier to show off their existing, and upcoming handsets to all the onlookers out there. However, it definitely doesn’t answer the bigger question: will this be the Palm Pixi Plus, or just the regular Pixi that’s seen on the Sprint network? The difference is simple: twice the on board memory, and the implementation of WiFi. We’d be willing to bet (and we hope beyond hope) that it’s going to the Plus variation that makes it across the pond.

Mostly, because we hope that Palm realizes showcasing the older version of a handset that got drastically better later, would be just about the worst decision possible. But, we’re not in control of that kind of thing, so all we can do is keep our eyes open and our fingers crossed. If a listing from 7mobile.de is any indication, they are definitely getting WiFi, along with UMTS data. Which makes us think it’s the AT&T model, with tweaks to the radio bands, that O2 Germany is getting. But, we’ll have to wait and see.

Telefónica O2 Germany will be one of the first operators to offer the GlobeTrotter Express 441. The company will market the GlobeTrotter Express 441 under its own brand as the O2 Surfcard Speed. Supporting quad-band HSPA as well as quad-band EDGE and GPRS, the GlobeTrotter Express 441 has been designed to deliver worldwide coverage for busy international business travellers. This device breaks new ground as the world’s first ExpressCard to incorporate a retractable antenna allowing the user to “install and forget”. An Airsafe mode allows the user to leave the device installed and continue using their PC when flying.

Depending on the network being accessed, the GlobeTrotter Express 441 can deliver super-fast ADSL speeds with uploads at up to 5.76Mbps and downloads at up to 7.2Mbps.

Ease-of-use has also been designed in. Option’s plug ‘n’ play Zero-CD technology automatically installs all necessary software the first time the ExpressCard is inserted. When the Traveller Antenna is pulled-out, the device powers up and connects to the Internet automatically. When the antenna is stowed, the connection stops. A front access SIM holder has been incorporated for added convenience.

O2 Germany has announced that the company is now covering 99 percent of the population with its GSM network. By the end of the year, the entire UMTS network will be HSDPA capable. The number of EDGE sites has tripled in the last two months and the HSUPA upgrading will start this year already.

O2 has reached the key milestone of operating an independent network as the company now achieves an almost 100 percent coverage of the population. Until the full expansion of its own mobile network by the end of 2009, O2 customers will also be able to use the T-Mobile network in areas which are not covered by O2. Moreover, O2 is also rapidly moving forward the optimization of the mobile supply in buildings, and the company continues to catch up with the two big market players.

Furthermore, O2 will start HSUPA upgrading for a more rapid uploading of data in the next couple of weeks.
Based on EDGE the mobile use of data will also become more and more rapidly in the classical GSM network. The number of sites has more than tripled to 2,600 in the last two months.
