O2 announced that its mobile broadband customers will have access to BT Openzone Wi-Fi hotspots, which can be used after an upgrade to O2’s Mobile Broadband Connection Manager software. The deal with BT Openzone offers an additional 3,000 hotspots (including most branches of Starbucks), and builds on the unlimited Wi-Fi all O2 customers benefit from with their O2 mobile broadband tariff.

O2 today announces that from April 3rd it will introduce a new 24 month tariff option for its new iPhone customers. Customers who sign up to the 24 month tariff can get the 8GB iPhone 3G for free at £34.26 per month and the 16GB iPhone 3G for free at £44.05 per month.

The new contract proposal combines the comfort of the BlackBerry smart phones with the flexibility of the mobile data tariffs Internet-Pack S, M or L.
