AuthenTec announced that NTT DOCOMO is now offering the Fujitsu F-01A, first fingerprint-enabled waterproof cell phone. In addition to the added security, the phone incorporates AuthenTec's TrueNav technology for touchpad-like navigational control via AuthenTec's AES1711 fingerprint sensor.

NTT DOCOMO and Fujitsu announced today that they have localized a mobile phone for the Taiwanese market based on the FOMA F905i model sold in Japan. The new handset was officially launched under the model name F905i in Taiwan today by Far EasTone Telecommunications.

NTT DOCOMO, Tata Teleservices Limited and Tata Sons Limited, today announced their agreement on a strategic alliance in India, under which DOCOMO will acquire 26 percent of TTSL's common shares for approximately 130.7 billion Indian rupees (US$2.7 billion).

NTT DOCOMO, Renesas Technology, Fujitsu Limited, and Sharp today announced that they plan to jointly develop the SH-Mobile G4 single-chip LSI device, and a platform incorporating it, to support the HSUPA/HSDPA/W-CDMA and GSM/GPRS/EDGE (2G) mobile telephony standards. Development of the platform is targeted for completion by the fourth quarter of fiscal 2009 (January-March 2010).

NTT DoCoMo, Japan’s largest mobile operator, unveils its new phones called SO-01A (or SO907i). Created by Sony Ericsson, seems this phone has both physical and virtual keypad - yeah meaning that it's a touchscreen phone.
