NTT DoCoMo Develops 8-Band Power Amplifier for Mobile Phones

NTT DoCoMo has developed a prototype multi-band power amplifier that accommodates eight frequency bands between 700 MHz and 2.5 GHz, paving the way for lightweight, all-in-one mobile phones capable of standalone wireless communications of different standards, including the forthcoming extra-fast LTE standard as well as existing W-CDMA and GSM.

NTT DoCoMo Licenses Nissan’s Scratch Shield Paint Technology

Nissan Motor announced that it will license its “Scratch Shield” paint to NTT DoCoMo for mobile phone in Japan. The self-healing paint, currently applied to certain Nissan and Infiniti vehicles worldwide, was developed in collaboration with University of Tokyo and Advanced Softmaterials.

NTT DoCoMo Develops Mobile Phone Prototype Using Surplus Wood

NTT DoCoMo has developed the mobile phone prototype made with the surplus wood of trees culled during thinning operations to maintain healthy forests. The prototype was created in collaboration with Sharp Corporation, Olympus Corporation and “more trees,” a reforestation project founded by musician Ryuichi Sakamoto and others.

DOCOMO, NEC, Panasonic, Fujitsu Push Ahead with LTE Mobile-Terminal Platform with 100Mbps link

NTT DoCoMo, NEC, Panasonic and Fujitsu announced today that they are making progress with their joint development of “LTE-PF”, a mobile-terminal platform based on Long Term Evolution (LTE), a coming mobile communication standard for super-fast downlinks above 100 Mbps and uplinks above 50 Mbps.

DOCOMO and PacketVideo Form Strategic Alliance for Mobile Multimedia Software and Services

DOCOMO, Tata Unveil New Brand for GSM Service in India

NTT DOCOMO announced today the new TATA DOCOMO brand for a GSM service to be provided in India by Tata Teleservices Limited (TTSL), in which DOCOMO owns a 26 percent stake. TTSL plans to launch the GSM service in southern India this month and gradually expand it nationwide.
