Galaxy S II LTE For NTT DoCoMo Made Its Way To FCC

Among the devices that NTT DoCoMo announced last month, hidden the SC-03D. The device will also known as the Samsung Galaxy S II LTE. It will be launch by the end of this year in Japan.

The Galaxy S II LTE has managed to made its way to FCC. It features a dual-core 1.5GHz CPU, an Adreno 220 GPU, and a 4.5-inch display WVGA resolution. Availability and pricing to be announced.

Sharp Android Handset Coming With Chocolate Case

Sharp is coming with a new Q-Pod android handset. The device is very unique in a way as you can see below. It’s chassis features a melted chocolate.

The handset come with Chocobed”, a charging dock that look like a fancy chocolate box. It features Android 2.3, a 1GHz Snapdragon processor, 512MB of RAM, water-resistant, and the 8-megapixel rear camera, and 3.7-inch screen has a sharp 960 x 540 resolution. Its coming to NTT Docomo with limited number which is 3000 units. The device will go on sale starting October 18th.

Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc Available Next Month in Japan with Pink Body

NTT DoCoMo today has announced the Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc for its subscribers in Japan, the smartphone will be available in midnight blue, Misty Silver and also a Sakura Pink version. The Xperia Arc is called SO-01C, supports DOCOMO’s enhanced extra-high-speed downlink service with up to 14Mbps connection speed. According to k-tai’s report, although the pink edition was not announced in CES 2011 last month, it will eventually available globally other than Japan market.

NTT DoCoMo to Start Testing LTE-Advanced Wireless Connection

Even faster than LTE, NTT DoCoMo will soon begin field experiments of LTE-Advanced in real radio environments in the cities of Yokosuka and Sagamihara in Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan. The experiments are carried out both indoor and outdoor, the company had previously achieved transmission data rates of approximately 1 Gbps in the downlink and 200 Mbps in the uplink.

Standardization of LTE-Advanced is currently being finalized by the 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP). In October 2010, LTE-Advanced was accepted by the International Telecommunication Union Radiocommunication Sector (ITU-R) as a technology compliant with the requirements of IMT-Advanced.

Galaxy S Commercial Includes The Darth Vader In Japan

The Darth Vader has appeared in the Galaxy S Japan commercial. The largest Japanese carriers, NTT DoCoMo, has requested Anakin Skywalker to be the spokesperson for their Samsung Galaxy S commercial. The Darth Vader has been seen in several poster and video clips. Here’s one of the clip of the Samsung Galaxy S commercial along with the Darth Vader.

Samsung Galaxy Tab Heading to NTT DOCOMO On November 26th

As NTT DOCOMO has promised to give out the released date of Galaxy Tab. Finally, they have announced Samsung Galaxy Tab released date to Japan. It will be available on November 26th via NTT DOCOMO.

The 7-inch tablet will be installed with DOCOMO’s new e-book distribution service. There’s also DOCOMO market and sp-mode service which allows the users to access i-mode email accounts. There’s no information on the pricing yet but we will keep an eyes on it.

DOCOMO to Launch i-mode Version of “docomo market” Portal

NTT DOCOMO announced that it will launch on December 6 an i-mode version of its “docomo market” mobile portal to provide the more than 48 million DOCOMO customers using i-mode-enabled handsets with simplified access to mobile applications, music and electronic books.

The new i-mode docomo market initially will offer access to about 1,200 applications, including those developed by all categories of content providers, including individuals. It will be accessible directly via most i-mode handsets or via PCs at http://appli.docomomarket.ne.jp/.

Music sales at i-mode docomo market will be co-managed with RecoChoku, a major mobile music retailer in Japan. At startup, the catalog will comprise about one million songs and music videos covering a wide range of genres. The book catalog will launch with a large number of e-book titles, including popular manga, novels and how-to books. Bundled purchases of multiple books will be possible.

Samsung Expecting Makes 40 Million Smartphones Sells On 2011

According to Shin Jong-kyun, the Samsung’s mobile devision head, they predicted the company will sells 20 million smartphones by the end of 2010. While Samsung Electronics Co predict the smartphones that they produced will exceed to 40 million sells by 2011.

Mostly, the profits that Samsung wanted will come from their Samsung Galaxy S device. The device will be carried by NTT DoCoMo Inc in Japan. Also, Shin did mentioned Samsung is preparing to release “a wide array of tablets,” which has 10-inch screened that would compete with Apple’s iPad.

Samsung Galaxy S Lands In Japan October 28th

Good news for those who lived in Japan, finally the moment that we have been witing for is here. Just as we promised, Samsung Galaxy S available in Japan October 28th via NTT DOCOMO. The Galaxy S that heading to Japan pretty much the same as the one we have here except it supports DOCOMO’s sp-mode service and an e-book distribution service that goes on trial from the same day.

Quick reminder regarding the Samsung Galaxy S:

* a 4-inch Super AMOLED display
* 1GHz CPU
* Android 2.2
* 5MP camera with 720p HD video recording
* Wi-Fi 802.11n
* Bluetooth 3.0

What specially about the handset is the different access on the three application market; docomo market, Android market and Samsung apps.

NTT DoCoMo iD Mobile Credit Payment Services Gains 15 Million Subcribers

NTT DoCoMo announced today that subscriptions to iD, its branded platform for using postpaid electronic money with compatible credit cards, had topped 15 million and reached 15.09 million at the end of August nationwide in Japan. Launched in December 2005, iD reached 5 million subscribers in November 2007, 10 million in December 2008 and 15 million in August 2010.

DOCOMO promoted the use of iD by offering an increasing number of compatible handsets and cards as well as adding more opportunities to use the iD services. The number of subscribers using handsets equipped with contactless IC chips (Osaifu-Keitai) compatible with iD has surpassed 37.5 million, representing over 60% of all DOCOMO subscribers.

DOCOMO, which is offering a credit payment service known as DCMX, and 67 credit card companies such as Sumitomo Mitsui Card Company, Limited are currently offering credit payment services via iD. A number of companies provide iD-enabled plastic credit cards in addition to Osaifu-Keitai handsets.

Currently, there are approximately 481,000 iD-enabled payment terminals nationwide which allow users to make payments just by waving compatible mobile phones or cards over them.
