Canadian network to integrate Nokia Maps and N-Gage

Rogers Wireless and Nokia today offer Rogers consumers to experience the latest in mobile gaming and navigation on Nokia devices. The N-Gage and Nokia Maps services in Canada are initially available for use on the Nokia N95 8GB, one of the world’s most sophisticated smartphones.

Nokia Maps, with GPS functionality and featuring Location Based Services, enables users to expertly navigate, whether searching for an unfamiliar address in their home city or exploring a vacation destination. Consumers can see the world with on-screen maps for more than 160 countries and millions of points of interest.

With Nokia N-Gage, consumers can easily find, try and buy the best in mobile games with a range of innovative, made-for-mobile titles from Nokia, such as Reset Generation and Dirk Dagger and The Fallen Idol, as well as popular brands from leading 3rd party publishers. Consumers are able to take their mobile gaming experience to new heights as they connect with other users through the N-Gage Arena community.

Confirmed: Nokia N95 8GB New v30.0.018 Firmware Update Available

Just as what we reported last week, the new firmware update for Nokia N95 8GB is now available via Nokia Software Updater. The software updater will detect your firmware on your Nokia N95 8GB and you can download the update directly through the updater.

Expect to see the changes as below,

New features:

Maps 2.0 (e.g. Pedestrian navigation, Traffic info, Multimedia city guides, satellite imagery)
Full N-Gage
Nokia Search 4.0 with Google plug-in

Changes/Improvements:

Download! application updated (v 3.1.50)
New baseline for Startup settings
New baseline/upgrade to Music Player

New baseline for VoIP (with significant error corrections)
General error corrections

One user has noticed other changes too

Realplayer supports FLV format (i.e FLV files can be played directly like MP4)
Icon animation is working bot no FP2 transition effects available
Incoming call number is displayed in additon to name of the contact.
New visualizations in Music player

Rumor: Nokia N95 8GB Getting New v30 Firmware Updates Soon

According to symbian-freak, they have already obtained a new firmware for Nokia N95 8GB. The software update file is to be ran from your PC directly, but not from the Nokia Software Updater service. It is not sure if this version 30.0.010 is the final release version, symbian-freak has posted the change log for this updates. You might be able to find download link for version 30.0.018 too.
