Nokia E63 Available in US, 279 USD without Contract

Sizzle red hot on Valentine’s Day or just be cool this winter with the Nokia E63, available on shelves in the US today. The Nokia E63 cost 279 USD, comes with 3G connectivity, WiFi, a 2 megapixel camera, and a standard 3.5 mm audio jack. It will be available in ruby red and aquamarine blue options.

The Nokia E63 has the ability to switch modes with a single key press, switching from a view of corporate mail, appointments and intranet data, to a personal mode with a picture of friends, personal email and shortcuts to favorite hobby blogs or websites.

The retail package also comes with a free 12-month subscription to Nokia’s Files on Ovi service, including 1GB online storage for your content. Files on Ovi lets you use your browser-enabled mobile device, PC or Mac and an Internet connection to access files in your digital world-documents, photos and, songs-whether on your remote home or office PCs or stored online with the “Anytime Files” feature.

Nokia E63 On Its Way to the United States

At the Consumer Electronics Show today, Nokia announced it will bring a US optimized version of the Nokia E63 to the North American market. The Nokia E63 will be available in the coming weeks for the estimated retail price of USD 279.00 with no mobile service contract required.

The Nokia E63 combines a QWERTY keypad, 3G network speeds and the mature open source operating system Symbian S60 3rd Edition, allowing consumers the ability to download third party applications, choosing from thousands, to customize their device however they’d like.

The Nokia E63 also comes with the ability to switch modes with the press of a button – allowing consumers to customize two separate home screens, one for work and one for play. Each home screen can be personalized with their favorite applications including a digital music player, video player, camera functionality, games, corporate or personal email including Mail for Exchange, Lotus Notes and a variety of standard consumer ISPs. A full HTML browser with Flash support rounds out the feature set of the Nokia E63, letting consumers check their favorite websites, blogs and social networks.

The Nokia E63 will be available in ruby red or ultramarine blue and purchased unlocked through various retail channels in the United States including www.nokiausa.com, Nokia Flagship Stores in New York and Chicago as well as a number of independent retailers and e-tailers.

Building on the Nokia E71 messaging phone, Nokia introduces the Nokia E63 today and will begin shipping in the coming weeks for an estimated retail price of EUR 199, before taxes and subsidies. The Nokia E63 will do EDGE/WiFi connection and comes without HSDPA connection and GPS. With a lower price it also uses a 2 megapixel camera module with fixed focusing. The phone will be available in ruby red and ultramarine blue colors.

The Nokia E63 also has the ability to switch modes with a single key press, switching from a view of corporate mail, appointments and intranet data, to a personal mode with a picture of friends, personal email and shortcuts to favorite hobby blogs or websites. Instead of the 2.5mm headset jack on Nokia E71, Nokia E63 is using the standard 3.5mm headset jack for music lover.

“The Nokia E63 is a new proposition for Eseries – a messaging device where people will be just as involved in their social network as they are in their business network,” says Soren Petersen, Senior Vice President, Nokia.

The Nokia E63 includes Files on Ovi, a service where people can get remote access to their PC files even when their computer is offline. Anyone buying the handset will have access to 1GB of online file storage for free.
