Rumor: Samsung S8000 A Cheaper Ultra Touch?

While the new Samsung S8300 Ultra Touch is available soon in some countries this week, King Mobile has leaked a few photos of a new Samsung full touch screen phone. Called Samsung S8000, it looks like a S8300 Ultra Touch variant, which will be priced lower as it comes with a 5 megapixel camera module compare to the 8 megapixel camera on the S8300. The Samsung S8000 also has a much larger answering call buttons, including the hexagonal button. Detail specifications has not been revealed, check out more leaked photos inside.

MWC2009: Nokia N86 Hardware Walkthrough Video

Expected to be available in this quarter, the Nokia N86 is the company’s first 8 megapixel camera phone. The N86 is powered by Symbian OS and has a wide-angle Carl Zeiss optics, dual LED flash, 2.6-inch QVGA OLED screen with scratch resistant hardened glass, A-GPS, 3.5 mm headphone jack and FM Radio receiver. It will be sold with an estimated retail price of EUR 375 (around 475 USD), before taxes and subsidies. Check out a brief hardware walkthrough video here.

MWC2009: HTC Touch Pro2 Hands On Video

Featuring a sliding QWERTY keyboard, the new HTC Touch Pro2 is also pre-installed with the improved TouchFLO 3D, a high-resolution 3.6-inch widescreen VGA display, QWERTY keyboard sliding keyboard and the new HTC Push Internet technology. Users can transition seamlessly from email to single or multi-party conference calls and turn any location into a conference room. When the Touch Pro2 is flipped over it automatically turns into a conference room speakerphone system. The Touch Pro2 will be available across major global markets beginning in early summer. Perhaps one of the surprise from the Mobile World Congress is the new Samsung Omnia HD i8910. Instead of using the Windows Mobile OS, the upgraded touch screen phone is a Symbian full-touch handset featuring a 3.7-inch AMOLED screen, 8 megapixel camera and supports HSUPA 5.76Mbps and HSDPA 7.2Mbps. The Active Matrix Organic Light Emitting Diode (AMOLED) touch screen offers unrivalled sharpness of tone, vivid colours and efficiency in power consumption.

Equipped with a HD video recording feature, it enables one to capture precious moments in HD (720p) quality, enjoy HD content on HD TV via DLNA technology and share real-time live video. MWC2009: HTC Magic Android Smartphone Hands On Video

Coming to the market in Spring this year, the new HTC Magic is the second Android smartphone and comes without a physical keyboard. Utilising the new soft keyboard, It is exclusive to Vodafone in the UK, Spain, Germany and France (SFR). UK, Spain and France will only get the white color, while Germany will only get the black color. According to Vodafone Spain, the HTC Magic will be priced between 99 Euro and 199 Euro when it launches. Check out a live demonstration video here

MWC2009: Digicel and ZTE Launch Coral-200 Solar Powered Phone

Digicel Group and ZTE has launched the Coral-200-Solar, which will be available in selected market in June this year. The company has been providing its customer with low-cost or free portable solar chargers, now it has decided to join the solar panel integrated mobile phone.

Mr Xiong Hui, VP of ZTE’s handset division says: “As mobile phones continue to proliferate in emerging markets and are widely used where electricity is available, mobile operators are demanding more innovative handsets. We are confident that the Digicel Coral-200-Solar is such a product and that solar power technology can be used in any type of handset. We are pleased to provide this handset with Digicel and Intivation. It will help millions of consumers worldwide to use mobile phones more conveniently and the technology is more environment-friendly.”

Detail specifications of Coral-200-Solar is not available at the moment.

Thanks to the team at Pre Community, a 26 minutes long walkthrough video on the Palm Pre is now available on Youtube. The Palm execs is explaining all the features and applications you can expect from the Palm Pre. Remember Pre Community also spotted a Palm Pre using GSM sim card during the Mobile World Congress.

LG has announced the launch of its smart and stylish new netbook, the LG-X120, it comes with 3G HSPA connection and 160 GB hard drive in compact design. Thanks to the easy-to-use Smart-On interface, the netbook loads its simple Smart-On screen in only five seconds. Just one click of an icon offers access to the most frequently used applications, including its MP3 player, Photo Viewer and internet suite.

Imagine holding a windows mobile smartphone with just a credit card size, how easy you can type on its QWERTY keyboard? Modaco has spotted an i-mate working prototype, ‘Project Centurion’, running Windows Mobile Standard OS and comes with a 2 megapixel camera, d-pad navigation keys and QWERTY keyboard. The tiny phone will support HSDPA data connection and available by the end of this year.
