Motorola and Telus Bring Motorola Milestone to Canada

The first Motorola Android smartphone, Motorola Milestone, will be available in Canada’s Telus network early next year. Milestone features the best of both worlds with a full QWERTY keyboard and touch-screen capabilities, as well as the opportunity for users to customize their mobile like never before with widgets and the freedom to run multiple applications at once.

Verizon Wireless Stores Open Early on Friday for the Droid

Verizon Wireless’ stores will open early this Friday (Nov. 6) for the launch of Motorola Droid to the mass. Some stores will open at 7 a.m. and others at 8 a.m. You can check your local stores for their opening hours.

Also on Friday, Verizon Wireless will create a first-of-its-kind interactive experience in New York City called, “DROID Does Times Square.” This experience will let callers control two of Times Square’s largest digital billboards – the NASDAQ and Reuters signs - using only voice commands. Beginning Nov. 6, Internet fans worldwide can also view the experience in real-time by visiting www.droiddoes.com/timessquare.

DROID by Motorola will be available for $199.99 with a new two-year customer agreement after a $100 mail-in rebate.

Motorola Milestone Available in Germany and Italy Soon

Official specification of the GSM Motorola Milestone is now available on Motorola website, with the same features as its CDMA version Motorola Droid. As what we have already learnt from previous post, the Milestone will be offered by O2 Germany and Vodafone. It will also reach Italy soon together with the launch in Germany.

Although there is no different on the hardware specs and design, Mobile Review’s Eldar Murtazin has spotted some changes on the built in software. First the Motorola Milestone has got mutitouch support while the US version Motorola Droid do not have this activated. You can use the multitouch for zooming in web browser and photo viewer. Secondly the Google Maps Navigation will not be supported in Motorola Milestone. Motorola will pre-install its own MOTONAV software for turn-by-turn navigation and it will only be available for 60-days trial.

The Motorola Droid will have 2 optional docking station, one of them allow you to charge your Motorola Droid with a useful info screen while the other in-car docking station will turn it into a nice GPS navigation device. We’ve just finished a sit-down session with Verizon, Motorola and Google to discuss the first Android 2.0 smartphone of the year, the Verizon DROID by Motorola, and this is certainly one very impressive smartphone. Verizon Wireless Droid from Motorola Officially Announced

Together with the upcoming Android 2.0 Eclair, Verizon Wireless Droid by Motorola will become the first Android 2.0 smartphone that will be available in US from November 6th. The Motorola Droid comes with a 5 megapixel camera, dual flash LED, WiFi, GPS and 3.7-inch capacitive touch screen with 16millions colors. The “Droid” will eventually get expanded with more Android smartphones for Verizon Wireless, which could be the Droid Eris from HTC.

DROID by Motorola will be available in the United States on Friday, Nov. 6, for $199.99 with a new two-year customer agreement after a $100 mail-in rebate. Verizon Wireless is also bundling the Droid by Motorola with a 16GB microSD card for your file storage.

New Motorola Droid / Sholes Runs On Android 2.0

Rumored to be announced by Verizon Wireless on October 30th, BoyGeniusReport has posted their Motorola Droid / Sholes hands on report. Other than a nice photo gallery and comment on the device, it is confirmed that Motorola Droid will comes with a new Android 2.0 version.

The Motorola Droid / Sholes used the same processor as iPhone 3GS and Palm Pre, the TI OMAP3430 CPU has made it one of the fastest Android devices to date, according to BGR. The capacitive touch screen is good and “amazing”, and its hardware keyboard is usable although it might be revised on the final prototype. The retail packaging of Droid will also include a docking station for convenient usb connection.

Rumor: Upcoming Android Smatphone Has New Android Market

Taken by an anonymous user who have access to the unannounced Motorola Sholes Android smartphone, the Android Market is said to have a new version coming up with some changes. The application category will be added with additional buttons on top for sorting application by Top paid, Top free or released date. These are previously accessible in the tree menu.

There are no full changelog available of the new Android Market software, but we might be able to know more about it from the upcoming Motorola event on September 10th.
