Motorola Quench for Rogers Shows up in Dummy Form

It may not be as exciting as the real thing, but considering we’ve kept you in the loop about the Motorola Quench heading to Rogers up there in Canada for a bit, we figured we might as well keep you well in the loop as the release date gets closer and closer. And, sure enough, Rogers employees across the Great North have been sending out reports (and thankfully, pictures) of the dummy phones they’ve been getting in.

Basically, dummy phones mean that a particular handset is, indeed, coming to a particular carrier. It’s a great way for employees to get a good feel of what something looks like, and it also gives them the chance to put it out to display (if they’re allowed to, of course), to provide a “look-and-feel” kind of test for potential customers. No, they won’t turn on, but hopefully the dummy models get them to come in again. Plus, it gives them a pretty good indicator of what Motorla’s MOTOBLUR looks like on the screen, and that’s probably one of the reasons people will walk away, or want to buy it right then and there.

Just as we’ve heard in the past, it looks like Rogers is going to sell the Android-powered handset for $49.99 on a new, three-year contract. But, if you want to buy it out-right, you’ll be looking at anywhere between $350 and $424.99. Motorola DEXT Android Smartphone Available in UK

Announced in September last month, Motorola and Orange in UK have start offering the Motorola Dext Android smartphone last week. The new Android powered device featuring MOTOBLUR user interface, able to sync contacts, posts, feeds, messages, e-mails, photos from sources like Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, Gmail, Yahoo, your work e-mail and LastFM. Orange is offering the DEXT free to customers who take out a £34.26 per month, 24 month contract. The package includes 900 any network call minutes, unlimited texts, Orange Maps as well as inclusive anytime internet browsing so users can make the most of their mobile experience.

Orange to Offer Motorola Dext Android Smartphone, Hands On Video

Announced as Motorola Cliq for US, Motorola and Orange is bringing the Android smartphone as Motorola Dext to UK. The smartphone featuring MOTOBLUR user interface, able to sync contacts, posts, feeds, messages, e-mails, photos from sources like Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, Gmail, Yahoo, your work e-mail and LastFM. First Motorola Android Smartphone Called Motorola CLIQ (DEXT) with MOTOBLUR UI

Motorola this week has unveiled its first Android smartphone, the Motorola DEXT or the CLIQ for T-Mobile USA. Like HTC’s Sense UI, Motorola announced its MOTOBLUR, which is exclusively for Motorola’s Android smartphone with tight social network integration. Updates to contacts, posts, messages, photos and more are streamed together and synced from sources including Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, Gmail, and work and personal e-mail. MOTOBLUR automatically delivers these updates to the home screen in easy-to-view streams so there is no need to open and close different mobile applications to keep up with the latest content.

The CLIQ delivers a reliable mobile Web experience by harnessing the power and speed of T-Mobile’s 3G network and Wi-Fi. Additional CLIQ features include a 3.1-inch HVGA touch-screen display, a 5 megapixel auto focus camera with video capture and playback at 24 frames per second, a 3.5mm headset jack, a music player with pre-loaded Amazon MP3 store application, Shazam, iMeem Mobile, and a pre-installed 2GB microSD memory card with support for up to 32 GB of removable memory.

DEXT will be available exclusively launching with Orange in the United Kingdom and France, Telefonica in Spain and America Movil in Latin America. Known as CLIQ in North America, the device will be available exclusively with T-Mobile USA.
