Samsung Galaxy S Won’t Be Getting Ice Cream Sandwich OS

Samsung has just announced that the Galaxy S won’t be getting Android 4.0 OS aka Ice Cream Sandwich update. This surely an unfortunate announcement by Samsung for the Galaxy S’ users. However, Samsung has their own reason for this sad news.

The main reason was due to hardware limitations that would not be able to run the new Android platform alongside Samsung’s custom TouchWiz user interface. But, we are looking closely, something is up. Since the Android 4.0 OS update is available for the Samsung Nexus S which pretty much similar to the Galaxy S. The device packed with 1GHz Hummingbird processor and enough memory for ICS.

AT&T’s LG Optimus LTE To Be Known As Nitro HD

Bell Canada has announced that they are getting the LG Optimus LTE early this week. Now it’s AT&T’s turns to claimed the same information. The carriers getting the LG Optimus as the LG Nitro HD.

The Nitro HD features a 4.5-inch 720p HD resolution display, a 1.5GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor with 1GB of RAM and 4GB of onboard storage, and expandable via a microSD card slot. Aside from those, the device also have an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera along with HDMI output, Bluetooth 3.0, DLNA support, and a large 1830mAh battery. It packed with AT&T’s fledgling 4G LTE network and Android 2.3 Gingerbread.

Android Ice Cream Sandwich Appears At Google Headquarter

As tradition, every new Android OS coming up will have it’s icon place at Google headquarter. Since it has been confirmed that Samsung and Google event is going through on October 19th. Google began to place the Ice Cream Sandwich icon in their garden full of treats.

Typically Google will upload a video showing them placing those icon. So, wait a little bit until Google decided to post them. We are thrill to see another amazing delicious looking treat that will perform in our future devices.

Dell Windows Phone 7.5 Mango Handset Got Canceled

Dell has decided to canceled their Windows Phone 7.5 Mango handset. They even plans to baled out from Windows Phone market. This surely a shocking news for Dell and Microsoft fans.

According to WpCentral, Dell is confirmed to canceled the Wrigley (WP7.5 handset). Aside from that, they also admitted that Dell will not launch any Windows Phone device in 2012. There are no official announcement as for now. Let’s see what will happen later.

Folks from SlashGear has managed to get their hands-on the HTC Rhyme. As you can see below, the device is covered with all the charm to attract women users. It’s plum color replaced the boring and typical black chassis on Android smartphone.

It has a charm that would light up when someone call or message. The Rhyme comes with a dock, headphones with a higher quality than past releases by all manufacturers (on the whole), and there’s a “charm” which attract many attentions. Check out the full review by SlashGear.

Pantech Hotshot Coming To Verizon With Its Ultra-Slim Chases

Verizon has just launch the Pantech Breakout. The handset was one of the cheapest handset that was offered by the Big Red. And today, the company announced another Pantech feature phone called the Hotshot. Check out the device pictures after the break.

The device won’t run on Android but rather Opera Mini Browser. The device is 0.35-inches which considered ultra-slim. It has 3.2-inch LCD Touch display, Bluetooth, a 2GB microSD card pre-installed, and expand up to a 32GB card. As for pricing, it would cost you $99 which the same as the Breakout.

Cellular South Will Be Known As C Spire Wireless

Cellular South is rebranding their named with C Spire Wireless. They already begin to release teaser commercials for the new brand. Along with a countdown website, which hinting at a major reveal on Monday, September 26.

In the beginning, the original countdown website didn’t show any sign on the new logo. But now, it’s all become clear. C Spire will focus on focus on providing a personalized wireless experience, introducing some new services around rewards, app recommendations, and social media integration.

Meizu MX Possibly Be The First Quad-core Android Handset

Meizu will be launching the first quad-core android smartphone. Its rumored to be launch in late September. The device comes in two different version which are the 16GB internal storage and a dual-core processor and another with 32GB storage an the quad-core processor.

It features a 4.3-inch qHD 540 x 960 display and a Cortex-A9 quad-core processor.Priced at ¥4,999 ($780) you will get the 32GB version while ¥3,999 ($625) get you the 16GB dual-core version.

Here comes another BlackBerry handset. The device received several codenames such as 9900 prototype 9980, BlackBerry Knight, R47, and Porsche Proceeding. Whichever you prefer to called, the device is very squarish and have a metallic chassis.

The BlackBerry R47 features BlackBerry 7 OS, Wi-fi, 3G connection, and NFC. This BlackBerry version is a luxury edition BlackBerry device. We have zero details on the handset aside from all the above. Check out the video below.

HTC Radar Windows Phone Announced

Here comes another HTC handset that have been revealed at IFA 2011 in Berlin, Germany. The device called the HTC Radar. It would runs on Windows Phone Mango OS.

It features a 3.8-inch display at 480 x 800 pixel resolution, HSPA and WXDMA connections along with Quad-band GSM, GPRS, and EDGE. Also, there’s a 5 megapixel camera on the back with a 28mm lens, having an f/22 aperture and single LED flash on the back alongside a back-illuminated sensor and a VGA front-facing camera.
