Fundamo today announced that leading African operator the MTN Group has chosen Fundamo’s Mobile Wallet solution to power its “MTN MobileMoney” service, which will be available to a subscriber base of over 80 million users across 21 countries in Africa.

“MTN MobileMoney” is a SIM-based, version of Fundamo’s Mobile Wallet Solution ver 3.1, specifically designed to meet the needs of MTN’s subscriber base. Using HSM technologies that offer ATM level security, and a PIN system that prevents sensitive information from residing on the handset, users are entirely safeguarding against theft and fraud.

The solution is also fully compliant with all banking and FICA regulations, enabling banks to login to the system and manage the banking elements of the service while MTN focuses on customer acquisition and retention.

“MTN MobileMoney” doesn’t require users to setup a bank account, instead offering a variety of services; from money transfer, mobile payments and balance checking to mobile purchases, and the ability to buy airtime in real-time. Users have the option to receive a branded “MTN MobileMoney” debit card that can be used to withdraw cash from ATMs.

Dialogue Communications has today gone live with Payforit Single Click Payments, across all UK operators. The Payforit payment mechanism allows consumers to pay for content, goods or services purchased on the mobile internet or web via their mobile phone. The new single click feature allows customers to buy from an internet page with one easy click, without having to additionally click-thru the standard Payforit pages on every occasion.

The single click function works from the Payforit pages once the user has selected the item they wish to buy. Initially users will be required to go through the normal payment flow for their first purchase but once they are comfortable with Payforit, they will be given the opportunity to use the single click version of Payforit in the future.

As well as being Payforit leaders in the UK, Dialogue is also continuing to expand its mobile payments solution around the globe, in particular in Australasia, Africa and Europe.

So, anyone who interested in creating any software or application, can start their initiatives immediately without any hesitation about royalty, profit-sharing, and so on.

Visa Inc. said Thursday it’s developing mobile payment software for the new wireless phone powered by Google Inc.’s Android system.

San Francisco-based Visa said Android users will be able to receive near real-time alerts about purchases via their mobile devices, Visa said. Users also will be able to use location-based mapping technology to find ATM machines and nearby stores where they can redeem special Visa offers.

The software will be broadly available to U.S. consumers by the end of the year, starting with holders of Chase Visa cards. Visa’s announcement came two days after T-Mobile USA showed off the G1, the first phone harnessing Google’s ambition to make the Internet easy to use on the go. The T-Mobile device is schedule to hit U.S. stores Oct. 22.

Mobile payments specialist Dialogue Communications is spearheading yet more Payforit developments this month with the launch of Payforit single click payments. The Payforit payment mechanism allows consumers to pay for content, goods or services purchased on the mobile internet or web via their mobile phone, currently up to the value of £10. The new single click feature allows customers to buy from an internet page with one easy click, without having to additionally click-thru the standard Payforit pages on every occasion.

Guiom Peersman, Dialogue’s MD, introduced the idea of integrating single click purchases into the Payforit framework to mobile operators earlier this year, and he believes it will further enhance the payment mechanism: “Single click purchases are widely available on the web, on sites such as Amazon and iTunes, so there is no reason why mobile internet services should be any different and I think it is something mobile users are also starting to demand. The single click option will not only improve the user’s experience of Payforit but it will also encourage repeat purchases and give users the power to tailor their buying preferences.

The single click function works from the Payforit pages once the user has selected the item they wish to buy. Initially users will be required to go through the normal payment flow for their first purchase but once they are comfortable with Payforit, they will be given the opportunity to use the single click version of Payforit in the future.

Dialogue is looking into opportunities to launch similar mobile billing initiatives around the globe, in particular in Australasia and Africa where a solution similar to Payforit has already sparked interest in the market.
