Glu Mobile announced the global launch of "Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa", a mobile game based on the DreamWorks Animation SKG animated film, which opens in U.S. theaters on November 7. The film is the sequel to the studio's 2005 hit "Madagascar," and is the first title Glu has developed and published with DreamWorks Animation, according to the company.

Zeemote announced the forthcoming availability of the Zeemote SDK (software development kit) for BlackBerry smartphones from Research In Motion (RIM), which includes the BlackBerry Curve and the BlackBerry Pearl series smartphones. The Zeemote SDK will allow BlackBerry developers to create mobile games that are compatible with Zeemote's JS1 Controller, a wireless, analog joystick for mobile phones that connects via Bluetooth.

Electronic Arts has signed an agreement with Eidos Interactive (LSE:SEG), which provides licences to EA Mobile for four key titles: Tomb Raider Underworld, Just Cause 2, California Games X and Minesweeper, with a future option on the mobile versions of the majority of Eidos videogame properties for a period of three years.

Zeemote and Nokia today announced a cooperation to bring the Zeemote JS1 Controller to users in Germany. The agreement sees Nokia advertising the Zeemote JS1 Controller in its German on and offline media channels. Additionally, the Zeemote JS1 Controller will be available in special Nokia gaming bundles with selected mobile devices.

Handango announced a deal to distribute games from Electronic Arts. EA Mobile titles including Madden NFL 08, The Sims 2, The Sims Bowling, MONOPOLY Here & Now, TETRIS, Bejeweled, and many more, are now available on smartphone platforms including Windows Mobile, BlackBerry and Symbian UIQ through Handango's web properties and Handango's on-device client, InHand.
