The Danger / Microsoft team continues to work around the clock and has completed its latest round of rigorous tests. We are now ready to make the first phase of the content restoration process available to you, starting with personal contacts.

This data restoration effort is only necessary for the minority of customers who lost data from their Sidekick devices.

Beginning today, log into the My T-Mobile website, where there will be a recovery tool to restore contacts you may have lost during the recent service outage. This tool will enable you to view the contacts you had on your device as of October 1. With a few clicks and a confirmation, you will be able to restore these contacts to your Sidekick. If you have recreated some of the same contacts on your Sidekick since October 1, you can choose to keep both sets of contacts, merge them, or just keep the set of contacts now on your device. You may also edit any partial or complete duplicates on your Sidekick after restoration.

We continue to work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to restore your data. We’re making solid progress on the next phase in this restoration process, including your photographs, notes, to-do lists, marketplace data and high scores.

According to Chris, the HTC HD2 will first available in UK and Europe this month. It will be launched slowly through out the whole Asia by the end of the year. Good news is that the HTC HD2 will also be available for US users, which will be available around Q1 2010.

The HTC HD2 also features a large 4.3-inch capacitive touch screen, built in WiFi, GPS, bluetooth and powered by Qualcomm’s new 1Ghz Snapdragon mobile processor. The HD2 is the first Windows Phones that uses a capacitive display and microUSB connector. In addition, HTC smartphones has finally started to equip with a flash LED. There are 2 flash LED at the back of the HD2, which is also useful as a torch light. According to SlashGear’s live hands on report, “there’s no pause or delay to wait for jagged images to be rescaled, or half-chopped paragraphs to shuffle onto the screen.  The capacitive touchscreen itself is swift and smooth, and has instantly left resistive Windows Phones in the shade.”

The capacitive touch display on the HD2 supports multitouch for viewing, zooming and resizing websites, Microsoft Office files, PDF documents and pictures easier with just a pinch of your fingers. HTC has also included a new Windows-based version of its Twitter application, HTC Peep. The pictures you take with the 5MP camera can also be quickly shared via Facebook or Twitter.

The HTC HD2 will be available later this month with selected operators across Europe, before rolling out to other regions in the coming months.

AT&T will support Windows Marketplace for Mobile in 2009 for access to a variety of applications on new AT&T devices, including the HTC PURE and HTC Tilt 2. Additionally, AT&T customers’ purchases from Windows Marketplace can be added to their monthly statements. After Microsoft delivers Windows Marketplace later this year for other versions of Windows Mobile, AT&T will make it available to customers using those versions.

 The HTC Tilt 2 features a high-resolution 3.6-inch widescreen WVGA display which can be easily tilted for an expanded viewing area and a large QWERTY keyboard, which is optimized for heavy email use. A quality speakerphone experience is enabled by dual speakers and dual microphones with advanced noise cancellation, and HTC’s Straight Talk which allows for simplified conference calling and activation of the speakerphone by simply turning over the device. The HTC Tilt 2 also features a 3.2 megapixel camera.

Leveraging HTC’s TouchFLO 3D experience, the all touch screen HTC PURE offers a 3.2-inch WVGA touch screen, five megapixel auto-focus camera with video capture, expandable memory, gravity sensor and an ambient light sensor.

The HTC PURE is available at AT&T retail stores nationwide and online at www.wireless.att.com for $149.99. The HTC Tilt 2, will be available in the following weeks for $299.99. Supporting a WVGA resolution, the upcoming HD2 should comes with 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon CPU, 320MB RAM, 512MB ROM and a microSD card slot. It should be announced in October, earliest by October 6th which is the official Windows Mobile 6.5 launch schedule.
