MetroPCS and Samsung today launched the Samsung Code (SCH-i220), powered by the older Windows Mobile 6.1 instead of an updated Windows Mobile 6.5. This is still the company's first Windows Mobile 6.1 though. The Samsung Code supports 3G data connection, comes with build in bluetooth, 2 megapixel camera, microSD card slot and a hardware QWERTY keyboard.

Samsung Mobile and MetroPCS collaborated with SA Studios Global to design a limited edition Mr. Cartoon branded Samsung Messager (SCH-r450) with Los Angeles based tattoo artist Mister Cartoon. Mark Machado, known as Mr. Cartoon, is a Mexican-American tattoo and graffiti artist based in Los Angeles, who has worked with numerous celebrities.

MetroPCS Communications today announces unlimited calling to select locations in Mexico for $3 a month. MetroPCS customers will be able to make unlimited calls to more than 200 landline destinations throughout Mexico and unlimited SMS text messages without any additional charges to four major Mexican cellular carriers: America Movil (Telcel), Telefonica (Movistar), Nextel Mexico and Iusacell.

MetroPCS and Samsung have launched the Samsung Finesse, the first touch screen phone for MetroPCS. The Samsung Finesse’s touch screen display, virtual QWERTY keypad and tactile feedback are designed with Samsung’s TouchWiz interface.
