LG Viewty Smart Shipping This Month, to Announce 12 Megapixel Camera Phone This Year

LG today has confirmed that it will start shipping its next 8 megapixel camera phone, the LG Viewty Smart (LG GC900) in Europe this month. Featuring a sensitivity up to ISO 1600, the new camera phone integrates an Intelligent Shot Mode that will automatically analyzing scenes and adjusting camera settings accordingly. The camera phone is assisted by a LED flash and featuring Multi-Face Detection, Touch Shot, Art Shot, Beauty Shot, Panorama Shot and Continuous Shot. According to the company, it has already sold 7 million units of the first LG Viewty, which was launched in November 2007. LG has also announced plans for a 12 megapixel camera phone with even more smart features, planned for launch later this year.

LG announced today Viewty Smart (LG-GC900), a new 8 megapixel camera phone with sensitivity up to ISO 1600 and an Intelligent Shot Mode that will automatically analyzing scenes and adjusting camera settings accordingly. The camera phone is assisted by a LED flash and featuring Multi-Face Detection, Touch Shot, Art Shot, Beauty Shot, Panorama Shot and Continuous Shot. LG Viewty Smart will be available through operators in Europe starting this May and then launch in other markets around the world.

Viewty Smart also includes the brand new 3D S-Class UI, which debuted on LG’s ARENA earlier this year. LG has tailored S-Class around Viewty Smart’s camera features with an on-screen dial for instantly switching shot modes and a thumbnail viewer that shows recently taken photos without having to switch to the photo gallery. The touch UI also supports zooming in by moving your finger in a clockwise circle.

Other than the great camera capability, the WVGA touch screen is a 3-inch display touch screen in 800 x 480 resolution. The 3G phone is compatible with 7,2 Mbps HSDPA network and photo geotagging with A-GPS. The Viewty Smart can also store photos on its 1.5 GB of internal memory or on MicroSD cards up to 32 GB.

LG Germany Blog Accidentally Made LG Viewty II Announcement

While specs of the LG Viewty II (LG GC900) was made known in early March, it looks like LG is getting ready to announce the 8 megapixel camera phone in the next few days. LG Germany blog has accidentally made a blog post about the new LG Viewty II, but was removed and replaced with a apology post.

The new Viewty II has a model number GC900, and it will be marketed with Viewty Smart branding. The Viewty II will have a 8 megapixel camera, supports up to ISO 1600, auto focusing and assisted by a Xenon flash module and image stabilizer. Other than the great camera capability, It is a full touch screen phone with a 3-inch display screen in WVGA resolution. It will also feature LG’s latest 3D S-Class UI, has built in 32GB memory, WiFi and GPS with photo geotagging support.

LG Viewty II Coming Soon with 8 Megapixel Camera

LG Viewty, the 5 megapixel camera which was released in year 2008 might get an upgrade soon with LG Viewty II. According to the source, the Viewty II is called GC900, it has already been revealed during a private trade show in Netherland. Picture of the LG Viewty II GC900 is not available except a list of its detail specifications.

The Viewty II will have a 8 megapixel camera, supports up to ISO 1600, auto focusing and assisted by a Xenon flash module and image stabilizer. Other than the great camera capability, Viewty II is a full touch screen phone with a 3-inch display screen in WVGA resolution. It will also feature LG’s latest 3D S-Class UI, has built in 32GB memory, WiFi and A-GPS.

The new touch screen phone is expected to be announced in few weeks time.

MWC2009: LG to Announce LG GM730 Windows Mobile, GD900 and GC900 This Week

With the newly announced LG Arena KM900, LG is preparing to present more models this week, according ot its press release on Korea website. The new announcement will include the LG GM730, featuring the S-Class UI optimized for smartphones. The new LG GD900 is a slider phone with a world first transparent keypad. The LG GC900 will be LG’s new 8 megapixel camera phone.

Note that the GM730 is running Windows Mobile 6.1, LG has ported over the S-Class UI for Windows Mobile with similar features. Other than the S-Class Ui, GM730 is just 11.9 mm thick and will come with a 5 megapixel camera. To be demoed at the Style Zone, the new LG GD900 has an unique transparent keypad design with a full touch screen. The transparent sliding keypad let you see through the keypad.

Other than the new models, new LG watch phone with touch screen and 7.2 Mbps HSDPA will be presented during the Mobile World Congress 2009. Check out a press video below
