LG, 20th Century Fox Offer Avatar Content Exclusively on New Chocolate

LG today announced a partnership with Twentieth Century Fox (Fox) to introduce the new LG Chocolate (LG BL40) phone in the Asia Pacific region with embedded content from James Cameron’s eagerly-awaited epic fantasy adventure AVATAR. The new multimedia-friendly phone will mark its regional debut in Hong Kong on November 4th.

“LG is very excited to team up with Twentieth Century Fox as both AVATAR and the new LG Chocolate represent innovations in our respective industries,” said Dr. Skott Ahn, President and CEO of LG Electronics’ Mobile Communications Company. “This is also a look at the future of entertainment where content creators and content deliverers work hand-in-hand to provide options that extend beyond just the theater-going audience.”

The new LG Chocolate made its official debut in the U.K. in September and is currently available throughout Europe and the Middle East. It is schedule for worldwide release by the end of the year. AVATAR premieres in theaters beginning on December 18th.

LG announced today a partnership with young fashion label Twenty8Twelve designed by Creative Director Savannah Miller and international film star, Sienna Miller. The first joint project between LG and Twenty8Twelve will be a luxurious designer case for the stylish new Chocolate mobile phone BL40.

In addition to creating the limited-edition Twenty8Twelve-branded designer case, the partnership will extend to LG and new Chocolate sponsoring the Twenty8Twelve London Fashion Week show on September 21 and the commissioning of digital content exclusively for the new Chocolate.

LG BL40 Chocolate Phone Start Shipping

LG today announced the worldwide retail release of the 4-inch Chocolate (LG-BL40) touch screen phone. It will be available in Europe from mid-September before making its way around the world.

“The new LG Chocolate will dramatically change the way we interact with our phones,” said Dr. Skott Ahn, CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company. “The new Chocolate reflects the originality and sophistication of the Black Label Series and like its predecessor, we are confident that the new Chocolate will create its own legacy and further enhance our standing in the market.”

Beginning from the UK, the new LG Chocolate will be released across the Europe in September and will be expanded to the rest of the world from October 2009.

LG Announces the BL40 Chocolate Phone for Q3

LG today has officially revealed its next Chocolate phone LG BL40. The fourth handset of the Black Label Series boasts a 4.0-inch wide screen high-definition LCD with an 800 by 345 pixel resolution, enable 21:9 aspect ratio support for video viewing. The 4.0-inch display also features a Dual Screen UI that can efficiently display two different types of content simultaneously.

The new LG Chocolate’s wide screen is overlaid with curved tempered glass and is seamlessly encased in a glossy black finish and iconic red highlights. The new LG Chocolate will be available beginning Q3 in 54 countries.

Today announcement did not include a shorter version of LG BL40, which was leaked 2 weeks ago as LG BL42

LB BL40 in the wild, more than one new chocolate phone?

Announcing in August next month, LG has planned to release their next chocolate phone series, which we have already watched it in a leaked promo video on YouTube. Here is the first leaked photos of the LG BL40 from telefon-treff, showing a long chocolate bar running the company latest S-Class UI.

Running with a 21:9 ratio wide display touch screen, LG has customized its S-Class UI to fit the 800 x 345 display resolution. According to the source, it will support HSDPA network, comes with a 5 megapixel camera, LED flash, WiFi and FM Radio receiver.

One of the leaked photos also placed the LG BL40 beside another model with similar design, hinting another chocolate phone in shorter display screen and similar form factor.
