New iTunes 8.2.1 Blocked Palm Pre Sync

For those who have a Palm Pre and syncing with Apple iTunes, an upgrade to 8.2.1 will break the sync connection as Apple has decided to block the Palm Pre from using iTunes sync. According to the new software update, the new version “provides a number of important bug fixes and addresses an issue with verification of Apple devices”.

According to Apple,

“iTunes 8.2.1 is a free software update that provides a number of important bug fixes. It also disables devices falsely pretending to be iPods, including the Palm Pre. As we’ve said before, newer versions of Apple’s iTunes software may no longer provide syncing functionality with unsupported digital media players” Natalie Kerris, spokesperson, Apple

Palm did not have a solution for this at the moment, it advise user to stay with iTunes 8.2 if iTunes sync is needed. Otherwise, the music transfer could be done through USB connection or other third party softwares like Missing Sync and DoubleTwist.

Listen to songs from your iTunes library, right on your phone…With Didiom, you can use your phone to access songs and playlists stored on your computer through wireless streaming. Just download Didiom to your phone and desktop and you’ll be ready to navigate the music files stored on your PC. You can stream them to over 200 phone models, including the BlackBerry® Curve™, for free.

The application supports more that 200 phones (including BlackBerry and Windows Mobile smartphones), and still only works for US cellular networks.

They recommend you to ask your carrier about an unlimited data plan before using this service. This way, you can enjoy getting your music, without having to worry about any extra fees.

Coming soon, iTunes for S60 smart-phones

Apple’s iTunes for Symbian Series 60 smartphones is no longer rumor: now it is confirmed that it is coming! iTunes S60 will have the same functionalities as desktop version, including iTunes Store. The application offers new features – the revolutional software technology with codename “HypnoBreathe”, that increases the sound quality on the level, which was not reachable for other s60 applications till this time.

Official release of iTunes s60 will be made in January, 2009. However, a couple of screenshots are already available as I posted here.
