According to the latest analysis on iPhone firmware, the new iPhone 2009, or also called iPhone 3.1 will be using BCM4329 chipset from Broadcom. The BCM4329 is a chipset with integrated IEEE 802.11 a/b/g/n, bluetooth 2.1+EDR (Enhanced Data Rate) and FM radio receiver and transmitter. If all features of the BCM4329 chipset are activated, the new iPhone will be able to stream music wirelessly with its FM transmitter and support wireless Draft-N network.

Current iPhone 3G is also using a chipset from Broadcom. The Broadcom BCM4325 has also integrated the FM receiver but was disabled by Apple. As a result, it is still possible that Apple will lock down some of the features on the new iPhone.
