iPhone 3G with iPhone 3.0 OS Can Be Unlocked with Ultrasn0w Now

Just released from the iPhone dev team, users who have upgraded their iPhone 3G with iPhone 3.0 OS can now be unlocked with the latest Ultrasn0w tool. The Ultrasn0w is used together with redsn0w or PwnageTool, which will jailbreak your iPhone 3G first before you proceed with the unlocking.

The redsn0w tool is released last week, which can be applied to iPhone, iPhone 3G and iPod Touch with iPhone 3.0 OS for jailbreaking. The original iPhone 2G can also be unlocked using the redsn0w tool alone without the latest Ultrasn0w

AT&T Wi-Fi Supports Auto-Authentication on New iPhone OS 3.0

AT&T today announced it will support auto-authentication for iPhone OS 3.0 users connecting to AT&T Wi-Fi Hot Spots. Auto-authentication allows iPhone users to seamlessly switch from AT&T’s 3G network to an AT&T Wi-Fi Hot Spot without being prompted.

The new process eliminates the previous two-step authentication, making it easier and faster for iPhone customers to connect to AT&T Wi-Fi. Auto-connect is established once a customer connects their iPhone to an AT&T Wi-Fi Hot Spot the first time.

The new auto-authentication process is available starting today to all existing iPhone and iPhone 3G customers who download the free iPhone OS 3.0 software update via iTunes. It will also be available to all iPhone 3G S customers once that product goes on sale on June 19. Meanwhile, all iPhone customers can continue to get AT&T Wi-Fi access with the current authentication process.

iPhone OS 3.0 Unlocking Tool Available This Friday

While iPhone OS 3.0 will be released this week to the current iPhone users, iPhone Dev Team has promised to release an unlock tool called ultrasn0w this Friday. It is unsure that if ultrasn0w can be used on the new iPhone 3G S, the team should be able to do further testing when the 3G S is available. Apple Releases iPhone 3.0 beta 4 for Developers

Together with a new pre-release iTunes 8.2, iPhone 3.0 beta 4 is now available for iphone application developers. The iTunes 8.2 is a must for the new build. Apple announced the new iPhone 3.0 last month and will bring Cut, Copy & Paste, MMS, Stereo A2DP Bluetooth and Push notifications to all iPhone users. It should be available soon in Q3 this year together with a new iPhone 2009 announcement.

Only for iPhone application developers, Apple has released iPhone 3.0 beta 3 for its developers to test with their applications. There is no change log available for the improvement and fixes. It is said to have improved speed, Spotlight Search saving and minor changes for MMS on German networks.

Apple announced the new iPhone 3.0 last month and will bring Cut, Copy & Paste, MMS, Stereo A2DP Bluetooth and Push notifications to all iPhone users. It should be available soon in Q3 this year together with a new iPhone 2009 announcement.

No Background Process, iPhone OS 3.0 Gets Copy & Paste, MMS, Push Notification and More!

To be released by summer this year, Apple has just presented a list of new features you can expected with its new iPhone 3.0 software updates.Although background process is still not supported, iPhone or iPod Touch users are finally getting Cut, Copy & Paste, MMS, Stereo A2DP Bluetooth and Push notifications. When available, the new software updates can be installed to iPhone, iPhone 3G and iPod Touch. The original iPhone will not be able to enjoy some of the new features, for example the Stereo A2DP Bluetooth and MMS support (due to the radio hardware differences according to Apple). iPod Touch users will need to pay $9.95 for the iPhone 3.0 software updates.

Not just only for emails, the Push Notification can be used in any iPhone applications so that you can get instant notification, for example MSN messages, even though you do not have a background IM application running in your iPhone.

With over 25,000 iPhone applications already submitted to apple for approval, Apple is enhancing its iPhone OS API with over 1,000 new APIs for developers. The new iPhone 3.0 will support In-App Purchase Capability, which enable developers to sell game level add-ons, feature upgrades within the paid iPhone applications. Using the additional APIs, iPhone accessories manufacturers can develop iPhone software that can talk directly with the hardware for data sharing or remote control via bluetooth. Apple will release a beta version of new developer tools 3.0 today after its press event.

Apple has announced that it will preview its new iPhone 3.0 software upgrades on March 17th next Tuesday. This also means that the new iPhone 3.0 will not be available immediately on the same day. Apple has also promised to release a new SDK along with the new OS version. Details of the upcoming features are unknown at the moment, iPhone users are expecting new features like MMS, copy & paste and iPhone tethering for internet access.
