Boost Mobile may like to get everyone’s attention for some device launches, but apparently they’re also perfectly complacent with slipping some onto their network under a hushed breath. The Motorola i296 has apparently been available for a couple of days now, and considering the specs and features, we can see why Boost wouldn’t necessarily go out of its way to announce its arrival.

The i296 is a standard candy-bar styled phone. It’s a rugged, push-to-talk handset, which currently makes use of Boost Mobile’s iDEN network. On the back of the handset you’ll find a camera, which will also give you the ability to capture video while you’re on the move. There’s an integrated web browser, Bluetooth support, and a media player. You can have it right now on Boost Mobile for only $60, with no mail-in rebate to hold you back. You’ll also get access to GPS, if that helps you decide.

Considering all the big news since the Motorola i1′s announcement a couple of months ago, you’ll have to forgive us if we’ve sort of forgotten about it. But, thankfully regional carrier SouthernLINC didn’t, and now they’ve officially announced that, starting right now, you can pick this first of its kind device up. You know, if you like your phone to have military specifications.

We will say this about the Motorola i1: it doesn’t look half bad. The i1 is the first military-spec 810F ruggedized Android-based IDEN-capable handset available on the market, and it will probably be the only one for a little while longer. It features things like Push to Talk (PTT), WiFi, GPS, a 5MP camera on the back, and a 3.1-inch HVGA capacitive touchscreen.

There’s no word on what version of Android the handset is running, but it does have Exchange support, a MicroSD card slot that can hold up to 32GB of storage, and the Swype keyboard pre-loaded. You can also visit Flash-based websites, as it has Adobe’s Flash Lite already installed. You can pick it up right now on a two-year contract for $200, or $275 on a one-year deal. Check out the video if you need a refresher on what this phone looks like in action.

Motorola’s r765 and r765IS solutions can help businesses speed up group communications and increase productivity with rich iDEN services including talk group and private calls, interconnect, messaging and data. Users also get isolated site operation, emergency talk group calls, status messaging and talk group scan. Moreover, organizations can continue to rely on MOTOtalk to enhance device capabilities with downloadable Java applications and provide workers with hands-free capabilities with Bluetooth wireless technology.

The r765 offers an impressive 1.0 watt iDEN output power for greater range while the FM/IS-certified r765IS delivers 0.6 watt iDEN output power. Dual SIM cards allow for two unique accounts on one handset, enabling administrators to quickly customize handset operation for different users through a simple menu selection and operate the radios on either 800MHz or 900MHz networks. The r765 will be available for purchase in the second quarter of 2009, while the r765IS will be available in the third quarter of 2009.

Motorola Stature i9 will be available from Boost by the end of February with Sprint getting the device shortly thereafter. The Motorola Stature i9 is just 15mm, featuring a 3.1 megapixel camera with autofocus and flash, external keys, integrated GPS, bluetooth and memory card slot.

“With its advanced feature set and a style that requires a double take, Motorola Stature i9 represents a significant milestone in our iDEN history,” said Rick Gadd, vice president, Motorola Mobile Devices. “In addition, offering this device to consumers in both a post-paid option with Sprint and pre-paid option with Boost Mobile shows the continued consumer demand for iDEN products and our ongoing commitment to the technology.”

Motorola Stature i9 will be available through all Sprint Nextel channels at a price of $199.99 with a two-year service agreement and after a $50 mail-in rebate.
