HTC is set to released a new version of its TouchFLO 3D, which has been demoed on the video below. The Home tab has got 3 program shortcuts added, and more shortcuts can be accessed by pressing the more arrow. HTC has also built in more features to the Settings so that you can handle more tasks with its interface alone! The ROM has not been leaked to the public yet, it is currently able to use on WVGA devices only according to the source.

Alternate HTC Touch Diamond2 Battery Back Cover

If you like to keep the fingerprint off from your HTC Touch Diamond2, there is actually a alternate battery back cover available from HTC. While you can’t really choose this for the standard Touch Diamond2 retail package, it is available as an additional accessory for around 35 USD, reported on a Taiwanese forum mobile01.

The new HTC Touch Diamond2 is now available in few countries and online stores. It will be available in most of the regions by mid-May. The new HTC Touch Pro2, which comes with a sliding QWERTY keyboard, will be available by end June this year.

HTC to Start Selling HTC Touch Diamond2 in Taiwan Next Week

With the first release date leaked by Expansys UK early last month, we knew that the Touch Diamond2 availability date will be around April 17th and will be priced at 488 USD before tax or 561 USD after tax. HTC has confirmed that it will start selling the windows phone next week from April 22nd in Taiwan and to be priced at around 650 USD. Its pricing would be different depends on your region, and the Touch Diamond2 should be available in many countries by end of this month.

The Touch Diamond2 incorporates a larger 3.2-inch high-resolution wide-screen VGA display for a greater viewing area in a design just 13.7mm thick. The phone also includes a 5 megapixel camera, microSD card slot, light sensor and a new touch sensitive zoom bar for faster zooming of Web pages, emails, text messages, photos or documents. Compare to first generation of the Touch Diamond, the battery capacity is increased to 1100 mAh from 900 mAh to improve the battery life.

New HTC Touch 3G ROM Upgrade Released

HTC has announced a new ROM Upgrade for the Touch 3G. It is available for English (Pan Europe, UK and East Europe), Italian, Dutch, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese and Russian languages. As usual, you should sync and backup your contacts and other data before you proceed with the ROM upgrade.

Improved Functions and Fixes

Fixed auto-reboot issue after enabling WLAN.
Added the control panel to the action panel after taking a picture in theme mode.
Improved QuickGPS updating through ActiveSync, Wi-Fi and GPRS.
Enhanced Opera’s browsing performance while running other applications.

Verizon Wireless to Sell Touch Diamond Soon

If you are on Verizon Wireless network in US, you will soon be able to buy the HTC Touch Diamond from Verizon Wireless, although it is a little bit late compare to other regions. The Verizon Wireless version has a similar specifications compare to other Touch Diamond variants, except its memory has been reduced to 128 MB ram / 256 MB rom. MWC2009: HTC Touch Pro2 Hands On Video

Featuring a sliding QWERTY keyboard, the new HTC Touch Pro2 is also pre-installed with the improved TouchFLO 3D, a high-resolution 3.6-inch widescreen VGA display, QWERTY keyboard sliding keyboard and the new HTC Push Internet technology. Users can transition seamlessly from email to single or multi-party conference calls and turn any location into a conference room. When the Touch Pro2 is flipped over it automatically turns into a conference room speakerphone system. The Touch Pro2 will be available across major global markets beginning in early summer. Without an official words from HTC itself, Expansys UK has started to accept pre-orders of the new HTC Touch Diamond2 with an expected delivery date of April 17th. The company is selling the Touch Diamond2 at 488 USD before tax or 561 USD after tax.

The Touch Diamond2 incorporates a larger 3.2-inch high-resolution wide-screen VGA display for a greater viewing area in a design just 13.7mm thick. The phone also includes a 5 megapixel camera, microSD card slot, light sensor and a new touch sensitive zoom bar for faster zooming of Web pages, emails, text messages, photos or documents. Compare to first generation of the Touch Diamond, HTC claimed to have improved up to 55% of the battery life.

New HTC Touch Diamond ROM update Available

HTC has put up a new ROM update (click here for the download instruction) for the HTC Touch Diamond generic version, which will solve some software bugs on video playback and camera. The ROM has a version number of 2.03.401.3, you could check your device info if you need an upgrade.

Here is a detail change log of the upgrade:

When you launch the Camera while the system is working on other programs, the preview screen may become black.
When playing a video, sometimes a portion of the video will be cut off a little bit.
Fixes Audio playback problem with the speaker. Specific issues: sometimes the music will turn off and on after 10 minutes, or there is a buzzing sound or no sound at all.
Fixes the problem of not being able to receive MMS when in standby mode.
When launching music via the Music tab on TouchFLO 3D, the sound may intermittently turn off for a second and come back on.

If you are using the HTC Touch device, you know you can’t get the TouchFLO 3D rotate to landscape mode like this guy. duttythroy from xda-developer has promised to release a new HTC Touch HD customized ROM, which has included a new TouchFLO 3D version with landscape enabled.

Other than the new landscape mode, the new version will have a new calendar tab, phone dialer, QWERTY soft keyboard, contact card setup and a new calculator! It is not sure that if this is ported from the new HTC Touch Diamond2, but I will definitely try it out on my Touch HD!
