HTC HD2 Coming to T-Mobile USA this Spring

During a press conference at Mobile World Congress, T-Mobile USA announced the creation of a comprehensive mobile entertainment experience for the upcoming HTC HD2, available exclusively in the U.S. from T-Mobile this spring. The slim and sleek HTC HD2 comes equipped with a 4.3-inch capacitive touch display and blazing-fast 1GHz Snapdragon by Qualcomm processor.

In addition to the HTC Sense UI, the HD2 for T-Mobile USA will also comes with the following pre-installed applications

Barnes & Noble eReader application
BLOCKBUSTER on Demand
MobiTV mobile application offers consumers access to live and on-demand TV on their phone
Pre-loaded “Transformers” and “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen movies

The HTC HD2 is also released with Windows Mobile 6.5 operating system, GPS functionality with access to turn-by-turn navigation from TeleNav GPS Navigator™, a Web browser, a pre-installed 16 GB microSD card, and an advanced 5 megapixel autofocus camera with dual LED flash for capturing images.

HTC HD Mini Announced with Windows Mobile 6.5.3

Not with the Windows Phone 7, HTC has announced its new HTC HD Mini and will be running with the new Windows Mobile 6.5.3. The HTC HD Mini did not inherit the Touch HD’s WVGA display resolution, it has a 320 x 480 HVGA capacitive touch screen, 512 MB ROM / 384 RAM and comes with built in bluetooth, WiFi, 5 megapixel camera and a 600MHz processor.

As usual, HD Mini is enhanced with HTC Sense UI, helping you stay close to the important friends and colleagues in your life by providing a single contact view that displays individual communication snapshots of your conversations regardless of whether it was a call, text, status update or email. HTC’s Windows-based Twitter application, HTC Peep, enables you to tweet and follow your twitter stream.

HTC HD mini includes capacitive touch for viewing, zooming and resizing websites, Microsoft® Office files, PDF documents and pictures with just a pinch of your fingers. Leveraging its 3G broadband connectivity, the HTC HD mini also offers personal Wi-Fi anywhere for your computer or other devices. The HD mini can also be further enhanced to reflect your needs and style by downloading a variety of applications from the Windows® Marketplace for Mobile.

The new HTC HD mini will be broadly available to customers across major European and Asian markets beginning in April.

Leaked Hero Rom with Android 2.1 and Updated Sense UI

Although the Android 2.0 is just debuted with Motorola Milestone/Droid, a new Android 2.1 rom has been leaked and cooked for HTC Dream/T-Mobile G1 Android smartphone. The cooked rom is still not fully compatible with HTC Dream yet. Google sync as well as the WiFi support are still working in progress to work with the HTC Dream. HTC is said to be preparing this release by end of this year, it will include the Android OS 2.1 and an updated Sense UI. [via slashgear]

New HTC Magic ROM Upgrade Enable HTC Sense UI

While it is not sure if HTC is also rolling out in other countries today, HTC Taiwan has just released an ROM upgrade for its HTC Magic users. The ROM upgrade will upgrade your ROM to version 3.03.715.4, it comes with Android 1.5 (cupcake) and more importantly you will get the new HTC Sense UI on your HTC Magic. Check out the upgrade instruction here. Serial number is needed to download the software from the support site.

HTC Tattoo Android Smartphone Announced, Known as HTC Click

HTC today introduced the HTC Tattoo, an Android-based phone that featuring HTC Sense UI used on HTC Hero. HTC Tattoo integrates Google’s innovative mobile services including: Google Maps, search, Google Mail, and Android market where users can download thousands of popular applications and games. It also comes complete with a broad variety of hardware features including a 3.2 megapixel autofocus camera, 3.5mm stereo headset jack and expandable microSD memory.

The HTC Tattoo will be available in Europe first at the beginning of October in 3 colors, and will roll out in markets around the world in the following months.

Android Community unboxed the HTC Hero with Sense UI overview

After their first HTC Hero hands on video from the HTC press event last month, Android Community has got a review unit from the HTC and here is a nice unboxing video plus a Sense UI overview done by Chris. With its 3.2-inch HVGA display, the HTC Hero boasts a broad variety of hardware features including a GPS, digital compass, gravity-sensor, 3.5mm stereo headset jack, a 5 mega-pixel autofocus camera and expandable MicroSD memory.

Other than the new Sense UI, the web browser on the HTC Hero supports flash animation. You will be able to view YouTube videos using Flash technology, and enable full screen viewing mode by simply double tapping the screen. Watch the unboxing video embeded below.

T-Mobile to offer HTC Hero as G2 Touch in UK

To be available in Orange UK this month, T-Mobile UK has “announced” in twitter that it will also offer the HTC Hero for its mobile subscribers. Similar to the first HTC Android phone, it is renaming the HTC Hero to T-Mobile G2 Touch. The smartphone is offered free if customer signed a 18-month service contract at £40 per month. Want to know more about HTC Hero? Android Community was on the HTC Hero press event and done a 15 minutes video walkthrough with one of the HTC staff. Added with the new HTC Sense user interface, the HTC Hero can be customized with many different widgets developed by HTC. You can also profile each customization into different scenes so that you could quickly switch to a different set of widgets you needs.

Orange UK to Offer HTC Hero from early July

Orange UK has announced that it will launch the HTC Hero for its subscribers from early July. It will also offer the HTC Hero in exclusive Graphite color.

Orange is offering the HTC Hero for free to customers who take out a £39.15 per month, 24 month contract. The package includes 1200 any network call minutes, unlimited texts, as well as inclusive anytime internet browsing so users can make the most out of their mobile experience.

Francois Mahieu, Director of Devices, Orange UK said, “We’re really pleased to be launching our first Android handset in conjunction with HTC. The first of several Android devices you can expect from us this year, we believe the Hero is a great all round device which will allow consumers to get to grips with all the things they love about the internet, whilst on the move. We expect it to be extremely popular when it hits shelves this summer.”

In the hand, the Hero feels slimmer than the Magic, not least because of the bevelled edge. The HTC rep we talked to wasn’t sure whether the pre-production handset you see here has the Teflon back coating or not; it doesn’t feel especially different to a normal matte-finish panel. The fingerprint-resistant screen is, as you’ll see in the shots, not particularly good at avoiding smudges in the first place, but like the iPhone 3GS it sheds them with a quick wipe.
