New HTC Magic ROM Upgrade Enable HTC Sense UI

While it is not sure if HTC is also rolling out in other countries today, HTC Taiwan has just released an ROM upgrade for its HTC Magic users. The ROM upgrade will upgrade your ROM to version 3.03.715.4, it comes with Android 1.5 (cupcake) and more importantly you will get the new HTC Sense UI on your HTC Magic. Check out the upgrade instruction here. Serial number is needed to download the software from the support site.

T-Mobile myTouch 3G Available from T-Mobile USA Today

T-Mobile USA today announced the national retail availability of the T-Mobile myTouch 3G Android smartphone. The MyTouch 3G is available in black, white or merlot color and priced at $199.99 with a 2 years service contract. [via slashgear]

T-Mobile has also launched a new application within the Market called AppPack, which highlights a sampling of noteworthy applications to help customers further personalize their myTouch 3G and manage their T-Mobile accounts. At launch, AppPack includes the following applications that are free:

Sherpa, created by Geodelic, Sherpa learns a person’s likes and dislikes through behavior and user feedback, prioritizing recommended retailers, restaurants and attractions. Sherpa features a learning machine that automatically customizes itself to the user’s preferences.
imeem Mobile streams music customized to your tastes, recommending new songs and artists based on which songs you identify as your favorites.
WorldTour puts live webcams from around the world onto your home screen.
Phonebook offers an upgraded, more personalized phonebook for Android.
FreshFace is a theme engine to further customize your myTouch.
Movies by Flixster takes the aspect of movie reviews to the next level. Through integration with Facebook, you can find friends who also want to see that movie or read reviews from friends who have already seen it.
Three T-Mobile applications will also be featured: T-Mobile My Account; T-Mobile Visual Voicemail; and T-Mobile Mobile Backup.

T-Mobile Start Accepting myTouch 3G Pre Order

T-Mobile USA announced today the beginning of its special pre-sale program for the T-Mobile myTouch 3G Android smartphone. Existing customers who order the device during the pre-sale period from July 8–28 can qualify for myTouch 3G delivery before the national retail launch. T-Mobile today announced national retail availability of the device will begin on Aug. 5.

T-Mobile customers have the opportunity to pre-order myTouch, in limited quantities, beginning today at http://www.T-MobilemyTouch.com. myTouch will be available nationwide at T-Mobile retail stores and online beginning August 5 for $199.99 with a two-year agreement.

Also called HTC Magic, the myTouch 3G is the second Android smartphone from HTC. The latest HTC Hero might not be available for T-Mobile subscribers, according to T-Mobile’s CTO Cole Brodman.

T-Mobile USA today announced the upcoming availability of the T-Mobile myTouch 3G, which has been sold in other countries as HTC Magic with a full touch-screen display and virtual keyboard. T-Mobile myTouch 3G also comes preinstalled with Sherpa application, featuring GENIE (Geodelic ENgine for Interest Evaluation) learning engine that automatically customizes itself to the user’s preferences. Through behavior and user feedback, the application learns a person’s likes and dislikes, prioritizing recommended retailers, restaurants and attractions.

Designed by HTC, myTouch features a 3.2-inch HVGA touch-screen display and virtual keyboard, which orients automatically from portrait to landscape mode in most applications. It also features a 3.2-megapixel camera, a music player with a pre-installed 4GB microSD memory card, and enhanced video capabilities to make it easy for users to record and share pictures and videos, whether via e-mail, MMS or one-click upload to sites such as YouTube and Picasa. The device’s powerful mobile Web experience is supported by fast data speeds via Wi-Fi and T-Mobile’s 3G network.

myTouch will be available to pre-order for current T-Mobile customers starting July 8 for $199.99 with a two-year agreement; additional product features and details will be available at that time. Devices sold through pre-sale will begin shipping in late July, and national retail availability for myTouch is planned for early August.

Rumor: HTC to Unveil 2 Android Smartphones on June 24th 2009

With at least 3 Android smartphones planned for 2009, HTC is set to announce 2 Android smartphones after HTC Magic. According to digitimes and theunwired, the upcoming Android smartphones will be the HTC Hero and the HTC Lancaster, both are already leaked in video and photos. The HTC Hero will feature a new build of user interface called Rosie, it will come without a physical QWERTY keyboard unlike the HTC Lancaster. The HTC Lancaster (AT&T) is also called HTC Memphis. It will come with a sliding QWERTY keyboard and could be the first Android smartphone for AT&T network in US. NTT DoCoMo Unveils 18 New Handsets in Japan

NTT DOCOMO has just announced its lineup of 18 new handsets for launch on or after May 22. The lineup includes models in DOCOMO’s four main series of FOMA 3G handsets – docomo STYLE series, docomo PRIME series, docomo SMART series and docomo PRO series – and the new Evangelion Phone based on an upcoming anime film. HTC Magic will be launched as HT-03A in Japan, it will be the first Android smartphone for Japan users. Toshiba TG-01 windows mobile smartphone will be also available by July as T-01A in Japan language.

For a long time now, Android and the T-Mobile G1 have been pretty much synonymous, defining not only form-factor but functionality of what makes a “Google Phone”. Gatecrashing that arrangement comes the HTC Magic, second Android smartphone to reach the market and the slimmer, prettier sibling to the G1, bringing with it the latest iteration of the Google OS, version 1.5 “Cupcake”. Taiwan Getting HTC Magic This Week

Already released in some Europe countries, HTC Magic will go on sale in Taiwan as well this week, with a price tag of about 640 USD without service contract. The HTC Magic is available in white or black version. The black version is also slightly different from Europe version, which has a side body in dark red color.

Vodafone Spain Start Shipping HTC Magic

One week earlier than the Vodafone UK, Vodafone Spain has start offering the new HTC Magic via its online store today. The company is planning to roll out the Android smartphone to all its local store next week. Available in black and white, the HTC Magic has a 3.2″ QVGA touch screen display and features a trackball and navigational buttons for quick, easy access. The HTC Magic includes a variety of email options such as Google Mail, POP3 and IMAP as well as Google Talk for instant messaging.
