Option.N.V. today announced the launch of its iCON 452 HSPA+ USB modem series in the U.S. with Cincinnati Bell. Cincinnati Bell now carries the Option iCON 452, which uses Advanced Wireless Services (AWS) Spectrum and provides the fastest Internet connection possible at enhanced 3G speeds.

Option.N.V. today announces the new HSPA+ USB modem iCON 505. With a maximum download and upload speeds of 10.2Mbps and 5.76Mbps, the iCON 505 is only 29g and will be able to support 14.4 Mbps downstream.

Novatel Wireless today announced the Ovation MC935D USB Modem, a compact HSPA mobile broadband device optimized for HSPA networks in Europe with single-band 2100Mhz operation. Featuring a slim 10mm thickness, the Ovation MC935D provides peak download speeds of up to 7.2 Mbps and peak upload speeds of 5.76 Mbps.

Huawei has announced i-Mo HSPA modem, which will be demonstrated at the Mobile World Congress. i-Mo supports plug-and-play and data transmission speeds up to 7.2 Mbps (downlink) and 5.76 Mbps (uplink). With its built-in Micro SD card slot, i-Mo can also serve as a USB disk. i-Mo will be available to customers in Q2 2009.

Sierra Wireless introduced the Sierra Wireless USB 306 and the USB 307 for HSPA+ networks, supports up to download speeds of 21 megabits per second (Mbps) and uplink at 5.76 Mbps. The Sierra Wireless USB 306 and USB 307 modems are expected to ship within the first half of this year.

Sony Ericsson today unveils the MD400 and MD400g, the first HSPA USB modems from Sony Ericsson that also combined M2 Memory Stick Micro and a microSD slot. Apart from an in-built antenna, you also get an additional swivel antenna optimizes the performance when in use. When closed, it covers and protects the retractable USB connector.
