HTC S743 Coming to US

Still no signs of US Touch HD yet, HTC has announced that it will bring the HTC S743, US version of HTC S740 to US in the first quarter of 2009. The HTC s743 support HSDPA (850/1900 MHz) networks, has a narrow body with a traditional 12-key keypad design and a full slide-out QWERTY keyboard. Pricing detail is not available yet.

With its full QWERTY keyboard, the HTC S743 is able to take advantage of its full suite of messaging options. As a Windows Mobile 6.1 based device, the HTC S743 interfaces seamlessly with Microsoft Exchange as well as personal POP3 and IMAP4 email protocols. Along with SMS and MMS messaging, support for a number of instant messaging standards is included with the HTC S743, making it fast and easy to stay in touch with friends and family while on the go.

AT&T Introduces Samsung Epix Officially, Available Now

AT&T and Samsung announced today the availability of the Samsung Epix, featuring full touch screen and new optical mouse that is powered by Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional operating system. The Epix is available exclusively to AT&T customers in the U.S., comes in a cool silver finish. Equipped with a full QWERTY keyboard, the Samsung Epix measures 4.6 inches x 2.4 inches x 0.5 inches, weighs just 4.4 ounces and includes a large 2.5-inch TFT color display.

The Samsung Epix will be available through select AT&T retail locations for $199.99 with a two-year service agreement and after a mail-in rebate.

Samsung Epix SGH-i907 Unboxing Leaked

Pretty much the same as Samsung i780 in other regions, AT&T should be announcing the Samsung Epix SGH-i907 this month. The Samsung Epix is running Windows Mobile 6.1 professional edition, has a touch screen with haptic feedback, built in WiFi, GPS and support HSDPA wireless data connection. Samsung SGH-U900 Soul Limited Edition in Black and Gold Color

As one of the Samsung flagship product in year 2008, Samsung is reported to release a special edition of Samsung Soul in several regions. The new limited edition is done in Black and Gold color and will be slightly more expensive the normal edition.

The Samsung Soul has a full metal body with a premium finish and 12.9mm-thin form factor. With Magical Touch by DaCP navigation indicators on the keypad of the phone change according to the user’s needs, making navigation of the menus simple and intuitive. The Soul is also equipped with a 5-megapixel camera with face detection, image stabilizer and Wide Dynamic Range (WDR), as well as a new series of graphic interfaces that provide three different options for users.

Yeah, it’s been five months since Velocity Mobile 103 leaked around the blogosphere and now, finally, they’ve announced the retail availability of the first touchscreen phone. The Velocity Mobile 103 combines Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional, an Odyssey Interface, Velocity Over The Air updates (Vota) and will ship by the end of September for £334.99.

Different from what we saw in the press photos, the numeric keypad, shortcut keys design will not kept your thumbprint, although the phone LCD and back cover will still love your thumbprint on it. New Sony Ericsson W902 Comes with 8GB Memory Card

Sony Ericsson today officially announces the new candybar W902 walkman phone. The walkman phone provides stereo sound with clear bass, comes bundled with a 8GB memory stick micro and HPM-77 headphones. The slim W902 also has a 5 megapixel camera and a 2.2-inch display screen.

The W902 Walkman will be available in selected markets in Volcanic Black, Wine Red and Earth Green in Q4 of 2008. Unlike the new W595 which will be available in EDGE or HSDPA version, the W902 will support UMTS/HSDPA 2100 and GSM/GPRS/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900 in a single version.

A-GPS on HTC Victor in Taiwan Got Disabled

With a similar hardware or software between the HTC Touch Diamond and HTC Victor, a few Taiwan users who bought the Victor are annoyed by the A-GPS support. According to the HTC in a letter replied to them, “With regards to your inquiry, please kindly be informed that HTC sells different specifications products in different shipping locations. We’ve confirmed that Touch Victor doesn’t support A-GPS function”.

According to another HTC engineer in HTC Care center in Taiwan, the HTC Victor’s hardware does support A-GPS, but was disabled by the firmware released in Taiwan. Perhaps a quick fix of new firmware by the clever folks at xda-developer will get the A-GPS activated on HTC Victor?

Note that the T-Mobile Compact IV is actually the HTC Victor, anyone can confirm if it does have A-GPS?
