Skyfire Finally Coming on iPhone App Store This Thursday

After going through 2 months of approval process in Apple, Skyfire is said to be approved and available from this Thursday for $2.99. According to CNNMoney, Skyfire’s flash video delivery with its browser is similar to its Android version. The browser is not a standalone iPhone App, but is built on top of the original Safari browser. When users click on a page that contains Flash video, Skyfire’s servers download, render and translate the video into HTML5, which is a Web standard that iOS devices support. Skyfire then displays a thumbnail that users can click on to stream the video from its servers.

Unfortunately, there’s certain interaction that Skyfire unable to applied. Even though you can play Flash video with Skyfire, but you can’t play games and watch from Hulu.

Samsung Galaxy Tab CDMA Spotted In Israel, Along with Official Accessories Info

Apparently, the Samsung Galaxy Tab CDMA has shown up in Israel. The tablet has 7-inch screen and a CDMA radio. Also, there are news regarding the Samsung Galaxy Tab’s accessories. The tablet’s accessories will be a QWERTY keyboard dock and Tablet charging Station complete with HDMI connectivity.

According to the app developer, the Samsung Galaxy Tab is fast with Flash playback on the Android 2.2 OS and also, a strong audio performance. It seems the tablet will be heading to the North America market. The only problem that appears from this tablet will be its GPS that is sluggish initially but after it locks, it will work fine.

The accessories: The Table Charging Station will be €54/$69, an iPad-style carry case which doubles as a stand for watching videos will be €41/$52, and the 83-key keyboard dock will be €82/$105.

BSQUARE to Port Adobe Flash for Google Android Mobile Device

BSQUARE today announced it will port Adobe’s Flash technology onto Google’s Android platform. It is unclear that which company has engaged BSQUARE for the work. The time frame for the roll out is not announced too. In the last 12 months since its acquisition of NEC America’s Adobe Flash Technology Consulting and Distribution business, BSQUARE has worked on over 40 different customer devices including handsets, set top boxes, digital signage, consumer devices and netbooks.

“Integrating Adobe Flash technology with the functionality of Google’s Android platform will afford consumers the rich content and unprecedented applications they demand and is key to achieving success for our OEM and ODM customers,” said BSQUARE’s CEO Brian Crowley. “We believe that our value-added products and services can improve the Android experience for users and help our customers get their devices to market faster.”

Adobe Open Screen Project to Accelerate Flash on All Gadgets

Adobe announced the Open Screen Project, supported by a group of industry leaders, including ARM, Chunghwa Telecom, Cisco, Intel, LG Electronics Inc., Marvell, Motorola, Nokia, NTT DoCoMo, Qualcomm, Samsung Electronics Co., Sony Ericsson, Toshiba and Verizon Wireless. The project is dedicated to driving rich Internet experiences across televisions, personal computers, mobile devices, and consumer electronics.

The Open Screen Project is working to enable a consistent runtime environment — taking advantage of Adobe Flash Player and, in the future, Adobe AIR — that will remove barriers for developers and designers as they publish content and applications across desktops and devices, including phones, mobile Internet devices (MIDs), and set top boxes. To support this mission, Adobe will continue to open access to Adobe Flash technology, accelerating the deployment of content and rich Internet applications (RIAs). This work will include:

- Removing restrictions on use of the SWF and FLV/F4V specifications
- Publishing the device porting layer APIs for Adobe Flash Player
- Publishing the Adobe Flash Cast protocol and the AMF protocol for robust data services
- Removing licensing fees – making next major releases of Adobe Flash Player and Adobe AIR for devices free

“As a long time strategic partner of Adobe, we are pleased to help launch the Open Screen Project and applaud Adobe’s move toward removing barriers to adoption of Flash technology in the mobile ecosystem.
