CTIA2009: Microsoft to Release Facebook for Windows Mobile Next Month

Already leaked and extracted from a beta Windows Mobile 6.5 ROM in early March, Windows phone users can expect to see an official release of the Facebook Mobile for Windows mobile in April next month. According to Microsoft, the application is free for all Windows phones users, allows users to upload videos or photos to their Facebook account directly. It is also possible that the official version will contain bug fixes to the current v0.14 facebook mobile, especially some caching issues. EA SCRABBLE Now Available on iPhone and iPod Touch With Facebook Connect

EA Mobile has announced that SCRABBLE on Apple’s App Store now supports Facebook Connect. The new edition of SCRABBLE connects the Facebook SCRABBLE application to a SCRABBLE game on iPhone and iPod touch – or vice versa.

Start on Facebook and switch to iPhone or iPod touch to keep playing on the go. Connect with a Facebook friend from an iPhone or iPod touch or join a public game on Facebook. With easy tracking of scores and statistics, players always know where they rank against competitors. While playing SCRABBLE, gamers can enjoy built-in chat so they can converse with opponents and friends throughout the game. Players can also get help from in-game dictionaries.

SCRABBLE is available on Apple’s App Store on iPhone and iPod touch or at www.itunes.com/appstore, and on Facebook for users in the U.S. and Canada. Customers who currently own SCRABBLE for the iPhone and iPod touch can download the update for free on their device.

Facebook Connect Available for iPhone

Facebook announced Facebook Connect for the iPhone, allowing users to take their Facebook friends, identity and privacy with them wherever they go. Facebook Connect for the iPhone provides the first live social experience for iPhone and iPod Touch applications, as users can now connect with their Facebook friends to play games (whether their friends are at home on a computer, or on their iPhone), and share restaurant reviews on the go, location-based status updates, and more.

For instance, you can use Facebook Connect with the Urban Spoon application. Once connected, you can see which restaurants your friends have reviewed on the iPhone as you are walking to dinner and share your thoughts afterwards.

Standalone Facebook Application Extracted from Windows Mobile 6.5

If you are a Facebook user and using a Windows Mobile smartphone like me, a standalone facebook application has been extracted from the upcoming Windows Mobile 6.5. You can download the application here, it has been tested on Windows Mobile smartphone with VGA, QVGA, WQVGA or WVGA resolutions.

According to jug6ernaut, it can’t be installed in to the storage card and have to be put in to the main memory, but I have accidentally installed it into my Touch HD’s storage card and it seems to be working fine.

Current known issues:

Can not be installed to Storage Card
If not WWE Rom, install may be not be perfect
Login Info will NOT be saved even if “save info” is checked (if you close with the X button(or other apps) instead of the “log out” your login info will be saved
Will not show friends ID if they are not one of your friends
First launch takes a while to cache all info

Emoze Announces Push Facebook to Your Mobile for Free

Java and Windows Mobile users will have the privilege within the next few days. Instant access to read, reply and send messages, avoids the need to open the Facebook website. Through a ‘push’ mechanism, messages are sent and received only when the mobile device is open and ready to receive the transmission.

Telefonica offers mobile Facebook service

Since most of Internet users have became “road warrior”, of course, they would preferred having any web service from their mobile devices rather than from computer. It also goes to the most popular social networking site, Facebook. Telefónica takes the initiative to integrate Facebook into their mobile portal.

Telefónica has inked a global agreement with internet social networking site, Facebook to integrate access to Facebook’s mobile service and applications from all of Telefónica’s mobile portals. This agreement will expand the current relationship between the companies in the UK into a worldwide agreement.

Incorporation into the agreement will take place in two stages, both for Europe and for Latin America. The first stage includes Ireland, Germany, Spain, Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, Chile and Colombia. The second encompasses Venezuela, Peru, Ecuador, Central American countries, the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

Telefonica signs global agreement with Facebook to incorporate direct access from its mobile portals

Telefónica and Facebook have reached a global agreement to integrate Facebook’s mobile service and applications in Telefónica’s mobile portals. This agreement will expand the current relationship between the companies in the UK into a worldwide agreement.

Incorporation into the agreement will take place in two stages, both for Europe and for Latin America. The first stage includes Ireland, Germany, Spain, Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, Chile and Colombia. The second encompasses Venezuela, Peru, Ecuador, Central American countries, the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

Every participating country may include a link in the browsing menu of its mobile handsets to Facebook’s mobile service, allowing customers to send digital content (photos and videos) through integrated MMS services (currently, more than 24 million pictures are uploaded to Facebook each day).
