Ericsson is collaborating with Intel to bring HSPA mobile data solutions to Mobile Internet Devices (MIDs).
The Ericsson HSPA data solution is targeted at Intel's Moorestown platform and is scheduled for release in the 2009/10 timeframe. Based on the Intel Atom processor, Moorestown is Intel's next-generation MID platform which will include HSPA as one of its wireless technologies.

Ericsson is selected by LG Electronics, to provide mobile broadband modules based on HSPA. LG Electronics notebooks and netbooks will include mobile broadband modules from Ericsson in Q3 2008. HSPA provides a DSL-like experience wirelessly with true mobility and there are currently more than 207 commercially deployed HSPA networks globally, serving more than one billion subscribers.

Ericsson is establishing an Innovation Center in sub-Saharan Africa to develop mobile applications that will benefit society as a whole, but with a special focus on meeting the needs of poor and rural populations.
