ViewSonic Uncovered Their World’s First Dual-Sim Android Phone

ViewSonic v350 was revealed by ViewSonic during the Mobile World Congress 2011. Proud to be announced, World’s First Dual-Sim Android Phone, will be running Android 2.2 aka Froyo. The concept that given by ViewSonic is that you can used two different Sims easily. Now, you can used one cell phone for business and personal.

Featured a 3.5 inch screen with 480 x 320 pixel resolution, a microSD card slot, WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1, A-GPS, and a 5 megapixel camera on the back. As you can see on the image above, when you are about to make a phone call you can choose which Sims by tapping the button on the left side.

Samsung Dual SIM Star Duos Heading India

Previously, Samsung has launched their dual SIM handset to Sweden in June. Now, the same handset will be heading to the Indians market. The handset will received a codename as Star Duos and is the first dual-SIM phone supporting 3G and 2G dual-active standby.

The Samsung Start Duos features 3.2-inch touchscreen display, a 3 page extended menu with TouchWiz 2.0 UI, 5MP camera with Power LED flash, Bluetooth 2.1, Wi-Fi, DNSe audio enhancing technology, SNS support, FindMusic service to identify songs, Document viewer, FM Radio, 9 regional language support, 250MB internal memory and microSD card slot supporting up to 16GB. The deice will cost around Rs. 12,300. Samsung is hoping that the dual SIM portfolio will contribute 25 percent or above to its mobile phone sales.

LG GM360 Dual-SIM Handset Appears in Brazil

It’s been awhile since we got the last shot from Mr. Blurrycam. We can’t say that we’re happy to have him back, but at least we get our first spy shot of the LG GM360 in the wild, so that’s got to count for something. You’re looking at an LG device that, for the most part, has been flying around the world under the radar. It’s shown up a few times, but not so much as it is right now. And now, for sure, we can confirm that it’s a dual-SIM handset.

These photos are coming straight from Brazil, one of the places where the handset itself is rumored to be launched some time later this year. There’s a few shots which LG Central managed to wrangle up, but the key ones are the front-facing one, and the second image below, where you can clearly see that there are spaces for two SIM cards. On the front, though, there’s a 3-inch touchscreen display (no word on whether or not it’s capacitive our resistive, unfortunately), with a WQVGA resolution. It’s got GSM/EDGE connectivity, FM radio, music player, and it’s got a 5MP camera on the back to boot. There’s also USB, Bluetooth, and support for MicroSD cards.

As we said above, there’s no word on when the device will be made available, but those rumors swirling around suggest that it should be soon. Brazil is a hot ticket, but considering the GSM/EDGE connectivity, it could pinpoint quite a few places around the world. As soon as we know more, we’ll pass it along.

Samsung Launches B5702 Dual Sim Slider Phone

Samsung today announced the Samsung B5702, a dual sim ,dual-standby mobile phone that allows users to operate two SIM cards in one mobile phone simultaneously. The GSM Quad-band phone provides two LED lights that indicate which SIM card is being used by an incoming call, and the interface can be personalized with various themes, melodies, and screensavers to recognize quickly which SIM card is in use. By using the dedicated hot key on the side of the phone, users can easily switch between the SIM cards without rebooting the phone.

The Samsung B5702 also boasts various multimedia functions including an audio player that supports various formats, video recording, a 3-megapixel camera, and an FM radio with Radio Data System (RDS) function. Samsung B5702 will be launched in several markets including in Russia in May 2009.

GeoSIM Global SIM Card to beat Euro Tariff

GeoSIM has introduced flat rate call charges and free incoming calls to beat the “Euro Tariff”. GeoSIM users can call between any European countries for 25 pence per minute. Combined with the flat rate, receiving calls is free all over Europe, meaning callers make significant savings when calling for business or pleasure.

According to Ed Neal, Managing Director of Geodesa Limited, GeoSIM distributor, GeoSIMs charges for making calls are 31% cheaper than the Euro Tariff limits. “There are no incoming call charges with GeoSIM unlike the networks, so overall GeoSIM works out 45% cheaper than the Euro Tariff rates.”

The specialist international SIM card supplier’s product allows business travellers and holiday makers to avoid roaming charges and receive calls for free when travelling abroad.

Samsung SGH-D780 Gold Plated Edition

Already available in Russia, Samsung has released a Samsung SGH-D780 Gold Plated Edition and become the official phone of Russia’s Olympic team. The Samsung SGH-D780 accepts 2 GSM sim cards. You can have 2 GSM network active at the same time without the need to reboot your phone.
