More info on the Dell Mini 3i Available Now

China Mobile will soon become the first mobile operator to sell the Mini 3i OPhone, comes with a 3.5-inch touch screen and 640 x 360 resolution. The Mini 3i runs China Mobile’s OPhone open source platform, and pre-loaded with softwares like 139Mail e-mail, Fetion chat and digital maps for navigation. It should be available in China by the end of November.

China Mobile and Claro to sell Dell Mini 3 Android Smartphone

Dell today confirmed plans to enter the smart phone business and announced partnerships with China Mobile and Claro. Its first smartphone is the Mini 3, which will be available by end of this month.

“Our entry into the smart phone category is a logical extension of Dell’s consumer product evolution over the past two years,” said Ron Garriques, President, Dell Global Consumer Group. “We are developing smaller and smarter mobile products that enable our customers to take their internet experience out of the home and do the things they want to do whenever and wherever they want.“

The initial Mini 3 smart phones are designed around the Android platform to best deliver power, flexibility and customization opportunities for both users and carriers.

Rumor: Dell Android Smartphone in Progress for China?

Chinese pda users forum, PDAFans, has leaked a blurry spy photo of Dell Android smartphone. There isn’t any specs detail available yet but it will be yet another full touch screen phone with hardware buttons below the display. While we can’t determine how real is the spy photo, this can also be another great work from the “make-in-china” fake phone.

Dell has announced the Wasabi PZ310 ultra-mobile printer, suitable for those who need instant photo printing and sharing anytime, anywhere. Wasabi is designed to work with other mobile devices via bluetooth / pictbridge and will print 2 x 3 inch borderless color images in less than a minute. With a weight of 7 ounces, it will be available pink, black and blue color.

The printer is to be used with inkless printing paper from ZINK. Wasabi PZ310 is available online in the U.S. at www.dell.com/wasabi with a $99 promotional price (regularly $149)

Rumor: Dell Making Smartphones, Codename MePhone?

Both AlleyInsider and WSJ have released news on Dell’s smartphone today, according to their source, the smartphone might be called MePhone and will be released this year. There is no confirmation on the phone OS used on Dell’s smartphone, WSJ was told that Android and Windows Mobile have been used on the prototype for the past one year.

Vodafone to Sell Dell Inspiron Mini 9 with Built-in Mobile Broadband

Vodafone and Dell today announced that Dell’s Inspiron Mini 9 ultra-mobile device will be sold with built-in mobile broadband, exclusively through Vodafone stores and online, and directly from Dell, in key European markets.

Available from late September, the Inspiron Mini 9 is only 1.035 kg in a slim, sleek, piano black design. Its features, including sealed keyboard and reliable solid state disc (SSD) memory storage, bright 8.9-inch glossy LED display (1024×600), and built-in webcam, are designed to offer convenient Internet browsing, instant messaging, and rapid music and video downloads. Details of country availability and pricing will be made available in coming weeks.

Ericsson and Dell connect on HSPA in next-generation laptops

Ericsson and Dell have teamed up to make Dell’s next-generation laptops support tri-band HSPA mobile broadband networks. Dell will offer built-in HSPA mobile broadband modules from Ericsson beginning in Q2 2008

“Consumers are increasingly utilizing notebooks to access the high-capacity services that they have typically experienced only through a wired or WiFi connection,” said Mats Norin, Vice President, Mobile Broadband Modules, Ericsson. “We are excited to work with Dell to give consumers and business users the freedom and flexibility to access internet in the way they want it, wherever they are.

Ericsson’s mobile broadband modules provides superior downloading and uploading performance and takes less power from the battery. The module also has a GPS receiver, to be used together with positioning applications.
