Functionality in a compact package – the Nokia 3710 fold

ESPOO, Finland – Nokia today unveiled a mobile device that balances eye-catching design with the latest in mobile functionality. The compact Nokia 3710 fold adds a personal touch with an artistic pattern on the cover. Its diverse features are effortless to find and use.

The Nokia 3710 fold smoothly opens to reveal the bright screen, ideal for displaying the pictures and videos taken with the 3.2 megapixel camera. The memorable moments can be shared online or stored on an optional micro SD card*. Together with the range of Ovi services on offer Nokia brings mobile Internet experiences to a growing number of consumers who want to share their memories, browse those of others, or explore new services and content.

Pioneering a renewed user interface, the Nokia 3710 fold boasts extreme simplicity without compromising functionality. The menus are visually simple and intuitive, and focus on the essential. The new Photo Gallery helps keep photos organized, create slide shows or albums, or attach photos to contacts and more, with just a few clicks. A variety of Nokia devices will support the renewed user interface in the future.

Various location based services offered by the Ovi Store and Nokia Maps are also within thumb’s reach, as the Nokia 3710 fold comes with an internal GPS that allows customization of the device to best suit individual needs, be it social networking or pedestrian navigation. A separate navigation license together with Nokia Maps give travellers a full navigation experience.

The Nokia 3710 fold is expected to find its way to pockets and handbags in the fourth quarter of 2009.

*With an additional micro SD card the memory is expandable up to 8GB.

Having a similar design as Samsung jet, the Omnia II features Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional and a large 3.7-inch AMOLED display with WVGA resolution. TouchWiz 2.0 User Interface and 3D effects make enjoying multimedia and multi tasking convenient and fun. Advanced R Touch (Resistive Touch) enables faster, more accurate touch response. Multimedia features include DVD-like (480p) video recording/playback, internet browsing and interactive 3D games. Users can download content quickly to the Omnia II’s HSUPA 5.76Mbps, HSDPA 7.2Mbps and Wi-Fi capabilities. Up to 48GB lets users store more of their favorite content.

The OmniaPRO B7610 features a hybrid Touch/QWERTY form factor offers greater versatility and ease of use. Push email for multiple accounts supports multiple corporate email solutions and Microsoft Office Suite lets users view and edit their documents in the palm of their hands. The PC-like Opera 9.5 browser and fast HSDPA data transmission and Wi-Fi connectivity, along with the 5-megapixel camera, GPS and brilliant AMOLED display gives the user separate work and life.

The compact design and ergonomic QWERTY keypad on the Samsung OmniaPRO B7320 makes it a portable messaging centre, with corporate push email support. Access social networking applications like Facebook and MySpace, and instant messaging for MSN, Google Talk and Yahoo Chat. The 3-megapixel camera, FM radio with RDS and Wi-Fi also enable users to be entertained wherever they go.

The OmniaLITE has an easy smartphone interface with full support of multimedia, internet, and business features. TouchWiz 2.0 and downloadable online widgets make it highly user-friendly, while the 3D multimedia player provides and enhanced entertainment experiences. Users have multi-push email access and the Microsoft Office Suite lets users edit and view their office documents. The speedy Opera Browser and HSDPA & Wi-Fi connectivity let users access the net with ease. Features like multi-codec supported high-quality video, 3MP camera, and A-GPS deliver an all-in-one mobile experience.

 The Dolfin Web browser lets users surf the net and access popular websites, especially social networking sites, with ease and speed. The 5 mega-pixel camera, built-in GPS, DNSe & SRS Sound Effect technology for superior sound quality, and DivX and XviD video support for hassel-free video downloading and viewing.

Running on the Windows Mobile OS, the B7610 could be released in Windows Mobile 6.5 when available. According to the source, it will have 2 user interface for work or media, and you can switch between 2 interfaces with one dedicated button. The B7610 supports HSDPA/HSUPA, comes with built in WiFi, GPS, 5.1 megapixel camera, 3.5mm headphone jack , bluetooth, 3.5-inch AMOLED touch screen and microSD card slot.

Featuring a 27 hours of playback time, the Nokia 5530 XpressMusic will include a 4 GB memory card for storing music and other media. It also has a 2.9 inch widescreen display (640 x 360) with tactile feedback, 3.2-megapixel camera, Bluetooth, WiFi and 3.5mm headphone jack.

The Nokia 5530 XpressMusic supports GSM/EDGE networks and also offers affordable access to internet services via the integrated wireless LAN over the ubiquitous wireless networks. Nokia is collaborating with Boingo and offers three months of free Internet access in select markets. Boingo works with hundreds of hotspot operators around the world in familiar locations such as airports, hotels, coffee shops and restaurants.

The Nokia 5530 XpressMusic is expected to begin shipping in the third quarter of 2009 at an estimated retail price of EUR 199 before taxes and subsidies.
